2019 Tails of the Painted Cats
Gala Dinner and Auction
Saturday, September 14

The Painted Cats are resting for a couple weeks before heading over to the next Summer Tour location.  This exhibition will be at the Lakewood Cultural Center from July 2nd through July 31st.  A reception will be hosted there on July 12th from 6 to 8PM.   The Lakewood Center is located at 470 South Allison Pkwy, Lakewood. You can view the cats up close, meet the artists, and mingle with staff and volunteers.  Dessert items, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages will be served.

This is one of several gatherings leading up to our big fundraiser, the 2019 Tails of the Painted Cats Gala Dinner and Auction on September 14, 2019. We will have 32 beautiful and unique cat creations of various sizes, cat paintings, and clay pottery available to be bid on by the guests.   In addition, we are hosting a Craft Brew Auction Table and raffling off a small cat, Little Ming.

Please click here for online ticket purchases for the Gala.

Plan to join us for a great evening of bidding, a live auction, a delicious dinner, and fun with fellow cat lovers and Cat Care Society supporters.  This event helps us so much in fulfilling our mission of caring for homeless, abused, and neglected cats in our community.

June Adoption Promotion

There are just a few more days to take advantage of the lower adoption fees this month, which is
officially Adopt-a-Cat Month.  We have adults, seniors, teens, and kittens of all types and personalities.  Please see if there is one waiting here for you!

Please visit our Facebook page for more information about our programs and events.

Visit our website to view all our cats available for adoption.

Note: our standard adoption screening process applies to this promotion. Further, for cats age ten and older and cats with chronic medical problems we offer our Perpet-U-Care Program which provides
$250 of veterinary care services per year.
Opt to Adopt Rose
Rose is a 4 year old brown tabby. She was transferred from another shelter so we don't know much about her.  Rose is very sweet and a great lap cat when she is inclined to be so. She needs to be the only cat as she easily gets into scraps with the other cats at our shelter.   She is not very comfortable with children either, so an adults only home would be best.  Rose has no health issues to speak of and is ready to find her forever home.

              Calling All Crafters

We have about 5 months until our much loved annual Santa Paws Festival. We are once again asking all you wonderful crafters to help us out with handcrafted, cat themed items that we can sell at the festival. These items are always very popular. We like to keep the price point no higher than $30 per item so keep that in mind - the Santa Paws committee actually does the pricing so you will not need to.  Lower priced items actually sell very well.
We know that creating lovely crafts takes time, so we wanted to put the word out early this year.  We are not asking for anything to be brought in yet as we have no storage available. We will send out another email when we are ready to accept items in the coming months.

If you have any questions or need any guidance, please contact either Dana Gengenbach at [email protected] or Amy Martin at  [email protected]

So get those creative juices going....
It's for the cats!

Coming next month...a summer barbeque at the shelter to benefit the cats.  This is a fundraiser to raise money for an enhanced sound system for the shelter.  Watch for details!

Chairman Meow found a wonderful home with two gentlemen who came all the way from Nebraska to adopt him!  As a special needs kitty who is diabetic, we are so happy for him.

Tony Stark also has a heartwarming story.  He was one of the cats in the feral colony that lives behind the shelter.  One of our adoption staff worked tirelessly with Tony to get him used to people and to being touched and petted.  Thanks to her, he was able to be adopted into a caring home.
