NEWS & NOTES

TNECD Grant Recipient

The Humboldt Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that our application was one of 30 in the state approved to receive the Retail Academy Grant provided by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. The grant is designed to provide funding to communities to participate in one of two of this fall's retail training programs in Middle Tennessee. Please read the full press release HERE.

New Festival General Chairman Chosen

Festival President for the 82nd West Tennessee Strawberry Festival Chelsea Caraway has chosen her General Chairman. Betty Langley will step into those shoes and will begin planning next year's festival along with Caraway and WTSF Event Coordinator Anna Surratt.

Small Business Counseling

This month's small business counseling is available to Humboldt Chamber members only. Ron Acree of the Tennessee Small Business Development Center will be here to answer questions or schedule follow-up meetings on July 5th at 9AM.

This service is absolutely FREE to members, but space is limited.

Humboldt Farmer's Market Date

The opening day of the Humboldt Farmer's Market has been moved to July 14th. Due to a later than usual start to warm (and dry) weather, our local farmers don't have their crops quite ready yet.

Humboldt Chamber Board of Directors

As we enter our new fiscal year, we also say goodbye to 6 of our Board of Directors. Thank you for all your hard work this past two years Georgann McFarland, Rob DeLoach, Steve Hardin, Joseph Montgomery, Melissa Swingler and Debbie Goodrum.

We would also like to welcome incoming Board members Celia Callahan, Ashley Culpepper, Thorne Barbour, Angi Baggett, Patricia Taylor and Chelsea Caraway.
