In a career that took flight with immediate commercial success and critical acclaim, guitar virtuoso Stanley Jordan has consistently displayed a chameleonic musical persona of openness, imagination, versatility and maverick daring. Be it bold reinventions of classical masterpieces or soulful explorations through pop-rock hits, to blazing straight ahead jazz forays and ultramodern improvisational works. Jordan can always be counted on to take listeners on breathless journeys into the unexpected.

Brazilian jazz guitarist Diego Figueiredo and American jazz guitarist Stanley Jordan are from different generations - Jordan is 58, Figueiredo is 37. Each has carved out an impressive resume. Jordan is a respected master of his instrument and a master of the "tapping technique," who has worked with artists as diverse as Quincy Jones, the Dave Matthews Band, Stanley Clarke and Dionne Warwicke. Figueiredo is a red-hot up-and-comer who's in a hurry's already released nearly two dozen albums.

Detroit bassist Ralphe Armstrong is the ideal musician to celebrate the legacy of fusion -- the amalgam of jazz, rock and funk that first made waves in the 1970s
-- because he was once at the eye of the storm.  A virtuoso on electric and acoustic basses, Armstrong has a big, charismatic personality, and his powerful band can go from zero to 100 in an instant.

These days, Ralphe tours, performs at various jazz venues locally and internationally, including the annual Detroit Jazz Festival, teaches at Cass Technical High School, Wayne State University and University of Michigan, produces, writes and conducts bass clinics.  Ralphe's sophomore CD project, released in 2015 Detroit Rising is a CD that encompasses Jazz, Rock, Fusion and Blues all rolled into one wonderful listening experience.  Ralphe was joined in the recording session by many great Detroit musicians, as well as Guy Pratt (Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson) from London, England, Reggie Wooten from Nashville, the late Larry Coryell (11th House) and the late Alphonse Mouzon (Weather Report).
