SCOUTFEST 2020
October 2-4, 2020

Pre-Registration closes Oct. 15!
Only one day left to pre-register for next year's biggest Scouting event! Nearly 18,000 participants are already planning to attend ScoutFest 2020 on October 2-4 in St. Louis' historic Forest Park. Pre-registration for the event, hosted by the Greater St. Louis Area Council, is open until October 15 , 2019. No money is due at this time, but the final price per person will likely be  $30-$40

FALL RANGER PROGRAM
November 29–December 1
S bar F Scout Ranch
This weekend will provide participants an opportunity to explore the backcountry of the Ranch during a time of year that gives a whole new perspective on the scenery and wildlife that comprises this Scouting paradise. Participants will try their hand at blacksmithing, trail cooking, black powder rifle shooting, and more, which are all activities that Scouts and Venturers can do during the week-long summer Ranger program.

NATIONAL JAMBOREE
Face the Challenge! While two years sounds like a long time, the 2021 National Jamboree will be here before you know it! Scouting’s flagship event is one-of-a-kind. Join 40,000 participants at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia to experience things like one of the longest zip lines in North America, a world-class skate park, all-terrain vehicles, treetop canopy tours, rock climbing, patch trading, stadium shows, and much more! Held every four years, the Jamboree is an amazing opportunity for everyone to experience the best of Scouting, all in one place.

STEM UNIVERSITY
November 2 at SIU Edwardsville
December 14 at UMSL
This full-day event for Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA is focused on earning STEM-based advancements and NOVA awards. Scouts use state-of-the-art facilities in local universities, work with STEM experts, and participate in hands-on educational activities. Cub Scouts will earn the Up & Away Nova award at SIUE and Cub Scouts Can Code at UMSL. Scouts BSA will choose from a variety of merit badges workshops.

More than 15 merit badges to choose from! All proceeds from the event go right back into providing for Scout programs and college scholarships.

VOLUNTEER SQUAD
Are you looking for more ways to get involved with Scouting? The Greater St. Louis Area Council is always looking to expand its Volunteer Squad. This group of volunteers helps with tasks around the office or at camp. Job duties might include sorting and packing summer camp supplies, assisting at the reception desk, filing, or staffing event check in.

BULLYING AWARENESS
The idea that a Scout should treat others as he or she wants to be treated—a Scout is kind—is woven throughout the programs and literature of the Boy Scouts of America. These fact sheets will help with bullying awareness and direct you to resources provided by the BSA and other entities we work with to protect children.

ESA TRIVIA NIGHT

Test your knowledge at the St. Louis Eagle Scout Association's annual Trivia Night. All proceeds are returned to BSA-related programs of the Greater St. Louis Area Council such as Eagle Scout project grants, NYLT camp improvements, and Wood Badge.

SPECIAL NEEDS AWARENESS TRAINING
Attend this training with professionals in the fields of Special Needs and Education to learn how to provide the best services for every Scout. Activities for Cub Scouts, Disabilities Awareness Merit Badge for Scouts BSA and adult classes for leaders and parents. 

MERIT BADGE SKILL CENTERS
PHOTOGRAPHERS & VIDEOGRAPHERS WANTED
Do you enjoy taking pictures or editing videos? The council is looking for volunteers to serve on the digital assets team. This group attends Scouting events and functions to capture photos and videos for future marketing use. The council is also assembling a team to cover next year's ScoutFest 2020.
