Do You Have Contacts with Organizations that Rescue Dogs, Cats, or Birds for a Documentary Filming September 10-20 in the Central Contra County area
Do you have any contacts who are owners or volunteers at a rescue center for dogs, cats, or birds? Or do you have a contact at a company with products or services for dog, cat, or bird owners?
A Chamber member, Changemakers Publishing and Writing, is looking to feature the work of seven or eight rescue organizations that care for all kinds of pets or specialize in rescuing dog, cats, or birds. The documentary will be filmed September 10 to 20 in Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Concord, Lafayette, Martinez, and Danville, and possibly in Orinda, Oakland, and Berkeley. This will be the company’s 10th feature length film. There are also opportunities for sponsors with products or services for dogs, cats, or birds who would like national publicity and clips they can use on their website or in their PR.
If you are interested, Changemakers’s owner, Gini Graham Scott, who is the film’s writer and executive producer, can you send you more information. She can then set up a 5-10 minute phone interview with the owners or volunteers at a center and forward this information to the film producers and directors who are handling arrangements and scheduling. You can contact, Gini at

East Bay Regional Park District Survey
As the East Bay Regional Park District celebrates its 85th anniversary, the Park District - in partnership with the Regional Parks Foundation - has launched a community engagement survey, seeking public input, to help inform the District’s future priorities and direction. The survey will also give the public an opportunity to weigh in on some of the most pressing issues the Park District and our community face in the long-term. Share your thoughts on the East Bay parks and trails by completing this short survey today at
EastBayParkSurvey.com. Together, we can help preserve, protect and enrich the natural beauty of Alameda and Contra Costa counties open space for years to come.
Rattlesnake Advisory: Rattlesnake Safety in the Regional Parks
As the weather heats up, rattlesnakes become more active in many of our parks, their natural habitat. They like to explore when the weather gets warm which can lead to more encounters with humans and dogs. The East Bay Regional Park District is advising that the public take snake safety precautions when visiting Regional Parks. Snakes are an important resource in the natural environment. They are prime controlling agents of rodent, insect, and other reptile populations. They must be enjoyed from afar and left where they are found. It is illegal to collect, kill, or remove any plants or animals from the East Bay Regional Park District. Please help us to protect wildlife and their environment for present and future generations. Additional information is available at

Common Snakes.
