The Arkansas Department of Health released Phase 2 Directives on June 12. The Recreation Department Staff is updating amenity plans for pickleball, the outdoor pool, fitness center and indoor pool under these directives.
Phase 2 plans will be implemented on Friday, June 19, 2020.
Balboa Beach swim dock removed
The Arkansas Department of Health requires physical distancing at the Balboa Beach which includes the swim dock. The swim dock has limited space and physical distancing cannot be enforced. The dock has been removed until physical distance directives are no longer required.
State of Arkansas
Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced that long-term care facilities will be opening up to visitation on July 1. This includes nursing homes and residential care facilities. In order to allow visitation, a facility must complete testing for the virus and meet Arkansas Department of Health guidelines.
In the past 24 hours, 415 more people have tested positive for the virus bringing the overall total in the state to 13,606. Of the 415 positives today, 35 were in correctional facilities and 380 were in the community. Of the total cases, 4,413 are considered active. Of the active cases, 147 are in nursing homes, 676 in correctional facilities and 3,590 are in the community.
Arkansas also saw an increase of three hospitalizations since yesterday, bringing the total to 217. Nine deaths have been recorded since yesterday, bringing the total to 197.

Saline & Garland Counties
As of Thursday, Saline County, 184 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Saline County and 6,881 have tested negative. Of those testing positive, 136 have recovered. The death total remains at two.
In Garland County, 165 people have tested positive for COVID-19 and 5,047 have tested negative. Of the people infected, 137 have recovered and one has died.
Cancellations & Postponements
- The newcomers meeting originally scheduled for Saturday, June 20, has been canceled. The next newcomers meeting is tentatively planned for Thursday morning, July 9, with a limited number of seats available to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines. More details will be published soon.
