POSITIVE BEHAVIOR
INTERVENTION & SUPPORTS
PBIS
As we communicated previously, one area of focus this year at Milton is the hallway during class changes. To make sure instructional time is maximized, we want to ensure that all students arrive to class on time. The students have responded very well to the gentle reminders by the staff to "REPM" by doing the following:
Area
|
R
Show Resolve
|
E
Be Engaged
|
P
Be
Positive
|
M
Be Mindful
|
Hallway
|
Avoid Distractions
|
Keep it moving
|
Be courteous and helpful
|
Arrive on time
|
In addition, we wanted to communicate to you what will happen should your student arrive late to class on a consistent basis. The following outlines the progression of consequences:
Number of Times Late to Class
|
Consequence
|
5
|
Student conference and
a parent is contacted
|
8
|
One hour administrative detention and a parent is contacted
|
9

Referred to Assistant Principal

|
Please encourage your student to "REPM" at Milton and to help us achieve our goal of 100% of students arriving on time.

CLINIC INFORMATION
Welcome Back from the Clinic! We are looking forward to serving your student's medical needs this year. Here are just a few reminders:
- It is imperative if your student has a medical condition that requires any Rescue medications, i.e.: asthma, allergic reactions, seizures and diabetes, that we have those meds at school for emergency situations.
- Students are allowed to carry an Inhaler, Epi-Pen, Auvi-Q and Insulin if there is a SHS 2 form in the clinic signed by the student, parent/guardian and physician. It is also preferred even if the student is carrying their rescue medication that another one be kept on hand in the clinic. A SHS1 form is required to keep and administer those meds in the clinic.
- All other prescription medication such as ADHD meds, anxiety, diastat and prescription pain meds must be stored in the clinic in its original container. A SHS1 form must be completed by the parent/guardian with a physician's signature and be on file in the clinic.
- Students in high school are allowed to carry approved OTC meds on their person as long as they are kept in the original container. Students are not allowed to share the medication with other students. Approved OTC meds include: acetaminophen, ibuprofen, Midol, oral antihistamines, cough/throat lozenges, antacids and aspirin. Be advised Aleve is not approved. It must be stored in Clinic.
- OTC meds that are stored in the clinic must have a SHS1 form on file with the parent/guardian signature.
- ***For all prescription medications, a physician must sign the form.
For further information and Medical Authorizations forms, please check on the Milton website Clinic and/or Fulton County website Safety and Security Parent and Student Resources. Please feel free to contact the Milton Clinic with any questions or concerns.

ATHLETICS
FOOTBALL
Last Friday night under the lights of Georgia State Stadium, your Milton Eagles ousted nationally ranked Archer 21-19. Jordan Yates had his hands in all three touchdowns, rushing two of them himself and reaching Holden Shaw on a 14-yard pass to close out the half. With 1:37 left in the fourth quarter, Archer had the ball on a 1st and 10 at Milton's 37-yard line. However, due to a collapsing pocket caused by Marcos Rangel, Zander Barnett and Allen Walker, Archer's Carter Peevy fell to the ground to cause a 2nd and 18 situation. This distance was too much for Archer to make up and they continued to turn the ball over on downs, letting the Eagle offense take a knee to let the clock run out.
Please come show your support next Friday as your Eagles travel down to Webb Bridge Road to take on Alpharetta at 7:30.
CROSS COUNTRY
The Milton Cross Country team opened its 2018 season on Saturday with many strong individual performances at the Zack Wansley XC Clash in Villa Rica. While resting its top seven runners from last weekend's time trial, the rest of the team stepped up to fill the void. In the girls' varsity race, the lady Eagles placed 3rd overall and were led by senior Olivia Lawson with a 15th place finish (22:18.8) in her very first race for Milton. Junior Katy Dickenson (17th - 22:45.2) followed close behind, and then a pack consisting of junior Peyton Schuchart (23rd - 23:02.9), sophomore Paige Chambers (24th - 23:06.9), and freshman Jessica Albregts (24th - 23:07.5) closed out the scoring. In the boys' varsity race, the Eagles were led by freshman Dylan Bowden (17th - 18:23.5) and junior Liam Wagenbrenner (18th - 18:25.1). Freshman Davis Hobbs (24th - 18:40.1), senior Kyle Meng (38th - 19:09.1), and sophomore Lorin Tady (40th - 19:14.8) closed out the scoring. In the junior varsity races, Milton dominated both the boys and girls races taking the top seven spots in the girls' race and six of the top eight spots in the boys' race! The girls were led by freshman Regan Ward (1st - 23:31). Natalie Ventura, Quinn Swidorski, Audrey Minton, Sophie Waters, Chloe Steinbeck, and Claire Chojnacki completed the sweep and earned medals for the lady Eagles. In the boys' race, junior Joe Pick took the top honors, running the fastest time of the day for a Milton athlete. Andrew Baum, Jack Petkash, Brendan Trainor, Josh Krak, and Max McMurry all took home medals. The Eagles will travel to Whitesburg next Saturday to compete in the Bob Blastow Invitational.
