Farm to School to Healthcare Virtual Youth Food Summit Registration
Farm to School to Healthcare is presenting a virtual Youth Food Summit for youth and adults who are engaged in agriculture, food access and/or food justice activities. The purpose of the summit is to create a platform to uplift the work of youth from across northeastern North Carolina and to educate adult partners about best practices for working alongside youth. The Gus Schumacher Nutrition Incentive Program
Deadline: March 16
USDA requests applications for the Gus Schumacher Nutrition Incentive Program (GusNIP) to support and evaluate projects intended to increase the purchase of fruits and vegetables by low income consumers participating in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) by providing incentives at the point of purchase through nutrition incentive grants; and to demonstrate and evaluate the improvement of dietary health through increased consumption of fruits and vegetables, reduced individual and household food insecurity, and reduced healthcare usage and associated costs through produce prescription grants. JBF Food and Beverage Investment Fund for Black and Indigenous Americans
Deadline: January 22
In acknowledgement of the immeasurable contribution that Black and Indigenous Americans have made to the modern American foodscape, the James Beard Foundation has launched the James Beard Foundation Food and Beverage Investment Fund for Black and Indigenous Americans to provide financial resources for food or beverage businesses that are majority-owned by Black or Indigenous individuals. The fund will provide $15,000 grants to food and beverage business that are majority-owned by Black or Indigenous individuals.
