It looks like fall has finally arrived and we have settled into our year's activities as the temperatures dip and the leaves fall. We pray that you are also preparing your hearts and minds for the days ahead.
The first order of business this month is a "save the date" for our annual banquet in the spring. We will gather at the Doubletree Hotel in Annapolis on Saturday evening, April 4th, to enjoy some great food, wonderful fellowship, and a remarkable speaker. Please note the date and plan to join us!
We are also on the cusp of another luncheon with our
Pastor Network, which will be held at noon on Wednesday, December 4th. These leaders come together quarterly to encourage and pray for one another in such a special way and we eagerly look forward to this gathering!
This month's feature update is from one of our College Associates facilitators, Mark Carter:
"Eight young women and 14 young men in the Naval Academy Class of 2020 are underway in the year-long CSLI College Associates Program. During their summer of personal reflection and study, they focused on the topics Creating Margin, basic spiritual disciplines, Receiving God's grace, and Understanding True Conversion. At the 24-25 August end of summer retreat, the College Associates formed into 6 small groups, and enjoyed lectures from Celia McAlpine (Meditating on Scripture) and Stuart McAlpine (Redeeming the Time). The 9 mentors, all CSLI Fellows, and their 6 small groups are currently studying, meeting, and discussing the program's fall topics, including Following Jesus Christ, Walking in the Holy Spirit, Living a Life of Love & Obedience, and Walking in Humility. Please pray for these 22 young sisters and brothers as they strive to walk closer with Jesus and also pray for their mentors as they come alongside them during their final year in Annapolis."
We are so blessed to have soft hearts in our future leaders, as well as those remarkable men and women who are walking alongside these Midshipmen in this journey. Thanks to all of you!
The SJC Fellowships are also continuing apace, with some Christmas activities coming into focus on the horizon. You can see how these young men and women enjoy the fellowship in several of our
Gallery images.
Our Year 2 Fellows have gotten into some of the deep water in their studies, with two months of considering sin. Keep them in your prayers as they confront some uncomfortable but fulfilling content.
Our blessings continue to multiply as we see Aslan on the move in Annapolis, as well as having some trials come our way. As Paul encouraged the Romans, so we are encouraged: "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope." (Romans 15:13) We are humbly grateful for all of your support in its many ways
, through which we can work with strength that is not our own and "abound in every good work." (2 Cor 9:8) If you are led to support us financially, please click
