Do you have an interest in government and citizenship? Are you someone who displays outstanding qualities of leadership, good moral character, cooperativeness, dependability, and participation in co-curricular activities?

If so, you may be interested in participating in either the Badger Girls State Program or the Badger Boys State Program. It’s an exciting week of meeting new students from around the state, staying on a college campus and experiencing dorm life. It’s a sponsored event, so there is no cost to the participants.

Requirements:
  • Be in the top half of your class
  • Be a US Citizen
  • Be able to participate in the entire week of activities

If you would like more information about the programs, please go to either:

www.badgerboysstate.com               or             www.badgergirlsstate.org

The Girls State Program is the week of June 21-26, 2020 on the UW-Oshkosh campus. The Boys State Program is the week of June 13-20, 2020 on the Ripon College campus. You must be able to attend the entire session so please check your calendar for availability.

If you would like to be considered for this opportunity, you must submit a short statement (200 words or less) to the Student Services Office by Friday, February 14. The statement should be typed and answer the following question: How will attending Badger State help me to make a difference in my community? Please include a list of co-curricular activities and any leadership positions held.
Homeroom
Students should report to homeroom on Monday, January 13 for attendance purposes. However, there will not be a homeroom activity scheduled that day. Students should use the time to study and prepare for final assessments. Students may ask teachers for passes during this time too.
