Dear Families and Friends of OLQP:
Have you ever heard the expression, "Actions speak louder than words"? At OLQP, school standards are posted in every classroom. During in-service, teachers had an opportunity to reflect on classroom management strategies and to share best practice. Teachers help students understand what each standard looks like in the classroom in terms of behavior and responsibility. Teachers take time to teach students the expectations and routines. The benefit is a well-run classroom where the teacher's energy is spent on instruction and building a community of learners, and the students' learning and development is optimized. Parental support is a necessary component. By now, you should have reviewed the classroom plan that your child's teacher shared. As the school year continues, students have a constant reminder posted in every classroom to help them be successful, "You will know my faith by what I do."
Thank you for being part of the mission and ministry of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic School.
Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam,
Mrs. Marianne Mechura, M.Ed.

OLQP Food Drive - August 27-September 14
We are taking up a collection here at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic School to help the local area food pantries. We are asking the students to bring non-perishable food items to their homeroom classes for the next 2 weeks from Wednesday August 29, 2018 to Friday, September 14, 2018. This collection is in honor of Our Blessed Mother's Birthday on September 8 and our foundress, Sister Antoinette's birthday.
If you would like to donate, please send canned goods, dry pasta, or cereal boxes with your child to school. The items collected will be donated to local Food Pantries at the various Catholic churches.
We will need parents to deliver the food items on Friday, September 14th after school. Please consider volunteering. It is a great way to get your child involved in service, and teaches them the importance of helping others in need. If you can volunteer your time, please email [email protected] or [email protected].
Thank you in advance for your donation to help our communities and may God Bless you always.
