Rector's Ramblings

Our staff has set a goal that may or may not be ambitious. Time will tell. We have agreed that we will accumulate 2020 miles of activity in 2020. That means we will, as a group, walk, run, hike, bike, swim, or paddle ½ mile per day each, on average, to achieve our goal. I actually think it's quite reasonable. While I don't get out as often as I want, when I do, it is usually for long enough that I could knock out a week's worth in one run or ride. But then getting out more frequently is the point. This goal is a motivator for all of us. We're not sure what we'll do to celebrate, but already, after just a few days, we've reached 1% of our goal! Hey, it's something.

Worship

Epiphany and the Season After Epiphany
Join us for weekly worship at Christ Church. Holy Eucharist worship services will take place on Saturday at 5:30 pm at St. Ignatius Chapel, on Demere Road, and on Sunday at 8:00 am, 9:15 am (services in both historic Christ Church and the Parish Hall), and 11:15 am at Christ Church, Frederica. Kidurgy, our Liturgy of the Word for younger children, takes place during the 9:15 am worship service at Christ Church.
Evensong at Good Shepherd, Pennick

Please mark your calendars for a very special Evensong at Good Shepherd, Pennick, at 5:00 pm, on Friday, January 24, 2020 to mark the inauguration of our diocesan center for racial reconciliation. The Right Rev. Scott Benhase, Bishop of the Diocese of Georgia, will lead this service on the Occasion of Establishing the St. Anna Alexander Center for Racial Healing & Reconciliation. Good Shepherd Church can be found at 780 Pennick Road, near Brunswick, Georgia.
Christmas Memories
In 2019, the journey through Advent to the Birth of Jesus was filled with anticipation, prayer, devotion and work. We thank all who contributed their time, talents and treasure to make the Christmas season a joyful and deeply meaningful time for all with whom we could share it at Christ Church. The Christmas tree may be gone now, but the Christmas spirit lives on at Christ Church! You may see a photo essay  of Christmas at Christ Church here .
