A Year of Change FY 18-19 annual report available online
A Year of Change: Annual Report FY 2018-19 has been published online by Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation (LUT).

“Our annual report is a testament to our LUT team's hard work through several internal changes, including a change in department leadership,” said Stephen Roberts, LUT Director. Roberts replaced former director Andrew Singelakis, who accepted a position as the director of transportation in Bellevue, WA.

“Our LUT team looks forward to continuing to work with our jurisdictional partners and the community to keep Washington County a place where people are welcome, safe, healthy and successful,” Roberts said.

In the last fiscal year, LUT’s work included management of 89 road projects in design or development – the most in the department’s history. Staff continued efforts to address the County’s affordable housing shortage through development of Ordinance 859, which focuses on removing barriers to development of accessory dwelling units. Collaboration with regional partners in support of Metro’s proposed 2020 Regional Transportation Funding Measure was also a major initiative that’s continuing in FY 2019-20.

During Fiscal Year 2018-19, LUT also:

  • Completed the Moving Forward TV Highway study, focused on the area between Cornelius Pass Road and 160th Avenue.

  • Continued deployment of intelligent transportation systems technology.

  • Completed 72,074 building inspections.

  • Issued 740 single-family residential building permits.

  • Completed paving and sealing on 70 centerline miles of roads.

More LUT Fiscal 2018-19 projects and statistics are included in the annual report, available at LUTannualreport18-19.com. Printed copies will be available at LUT-sponsored events and Washington County Community Participation Organization meetings.
