We Started the Week in Coeur d'Alene

We began the week in Coeur d'Alene, where we were giv ing our our extended leadership training "Serving on Groups" 2-day training. We'd like to thank everyone who participated, and look forward to bringing this training to other locations in the state in the future.

Non-Verbal High School Student Makes History By Giving Stunning Graduation Speech With Voice Tech

We shared this great story about a non-verbal student giving a graduation speech, using software he'd developed to make that possible: Graduating from high school is already a significant event for most young students – but this student’s inspiring commencement speech was particularly noteworthy. Ahmed Ali is a non-verbal student who has been attending the Minneapolis Public School system’s Transitions Plus Program for the last three years.... ... Title V Block Grant Information

IMPORTANT: IPUL is supported in part through the Title V MCH program in Idaho to provide needed training, information, and supports for families who have children with special health care needs. We would love your participation in the following. We will also be disseminating surveys in the coming weeks via in-person focus groups and online: The Title V Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Block Grant Program is one of the largest federal block grant programs and the longest standing public health legislation with the goal of improving the health and well-being of mothers, infants, and children, including children and youth with special health care needs. Whether you are a parent, government official, advocate, service provider, or member of the public, the Idaho MCH Block Grant likely touches you or a family member’s life. Its success lies in the strength of partnerships, collaborations, and involvement of Idaho families. The program collects input related to existing services and programs, population needs, and emerging issues to assure that the MCH Program is guided by the needs of Idaho. Each year, we invite the public to review and provide input on Idaho’s MCH Block Grant activities and strategies. Idaho Parents Unlimited (IPUL) is so very grateful for the Idaho Legislature and the Idaho Commission on the Arts for their continued support of our arts programming ensuring children with disabilities receive high-quality arts education and opportunities throughout the year. Thank you for all you do for ALL kids!

We want you to update your preferences!

You can now tune your email preferences! We want to be sure you are getting the mail from us that matters to you. We recently corrected an issue that was keeping people from being added to our mailing list, so if you are seeing this today for the first time, welcome! When you join our mailing list you begin by getting everything we send out... However we know that not everyone wants to see everything we send out, so we are making it easy to tune your preferences. If you scroll to the very bottom of this mailing you will find a link that says "update profile" clicking this will launch a page where you can update your information, and choose what mailings you will receive from us in the future. You will be able to deselect or select to be on the newsletter list, the social media update list, or the announcements list. If you are happy with getting everything, then you don't have to do anything, you are all set. But should you want to adjust what we send you, that is now possible.

Announcement: No July Training

Due to changes in our workshop delivery that we made in January, we will not be hosting our scheduled July parent meet up. We will resume our monthly live trainings in August. Hope you all have a great holiday with your families!

Just a reminder that we have changed how we present our webinars - rather than a live webinar, will are now releasing a series of shorter, prerecorded modules on the same topic as our statewide training.
