ed in the bulletin will be listed those members and constituents, as well as those for whom we have held the memorial services for during the past year. We will also name other family members who have passed away during this time.
|
Confused about all the CBD information that has been in the news? Well, then put the November 2 UMM breakfast on your calendar. Diana Marie from the Front Range Herbal Institute will be on hand to present "The Bliss System - Hemp as a Healer." Breakfast is served at 8:00, and all members are welcome to attend the 8:30 presentation.

"Enriched in Every Way, Generous on Every Occasion" Stewardship Drive Underway
Join us in discovering how our generosity gives thanksgiving to God, and enables all of our ministry. We encourage you to discern your giving level for 2020, drawing from how we are called by our Lord to be abundantly generous, which in turn blesses us abundantly.
We are receiving completed pledge cards now. This is a change from the past where we waited until a consecration Sunday. Pledge cards were mailed and emailed the beginning of the month. They are also available during worship. Please email or bring your completed cards to the church.
We have a pledge goal for 2020 of $250,000. To help us celebrate moving toward this goal, every week new blocks will be added to our beautiful cross in the narthex. Each block represents another $10,000 pledged towards our goal. These represent all the life changing ministries we together, by God's guidance and grace, will make possible in 2020.

"We are very grateful to the United Methodist Church of Evergreen. Our faith journey has been supported by meaningful sermons, educational opportunities such as our trip this year to the Holy Land, and in depth conversations with fellow members. The congregation has been amazingly kind and helpful before and after Bob's hip replacement surgery. Our faith as been affirmed by the words of John Wesley, "We may not think alike, but we can love alike." Truly, we have been loved."

FAMILY PROMISE - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED |
Most of you probably are aware that one of our ministries is Family Promise, which supports families who are homeless. We assist about every 3 months at the Jefferson Avenue Methodist Church by providing a meal and an overnight host for the families that are staying there.
Our next weekend is November 22 and 23. The dinner hosts prepare the meal at home and bring it to the church and serve it to the guests. Usually there are 4-5 families numbering about 15, of which half are children ranging in age from infants to teenagers.
The overnight hosts come to the church later and stay at the church until the next morning. The families spend the day at the Family Promise headquarters. It is there that they have help with finding a home, maybe a job and day care.
If you feel you can be a part of this very effective ministry, please call Jo Ann Dunn at 303-674-1695 or 303-503-5978. Her email is [email protected].

THE WAY FORWARD FOCUS GROUPS FOR THE METRO/ MILE HIGH DISTRICT
|
We are setting up four Focus Groups for the Metro/Mile High District. These Focus Groups are the result of one of the petitions that passed at Annual Conference. This will be a time to gather information and to process how The Way Forward of the UMC is intersecting with the Mountain Sky Conference. There has been a wide variety of information distributed, some accurate and some not. This is your chance to get information directly. And to have input as to the direction that the Mountain Sky Conference should take. We particularly encourage any and all laity to come to these sessions. In addition to getting the most accurate information possible, there will be time for sharing and engagement with each other.
- The first one is at Arvada UMC [6750 Carr St, Arvada] this coming Tuesday, November 5th from 6-8pm.
- The second will be at Scott UMC [2880 Garfield St, Denver] on Thursday, November 21st from 5-6:45 pm. Following this gathering, there will be a revival worship service at 7pm in the Sanctuary in which the Rev. Jasper Peters will be preaching on healing and healing prayer. Folks are invited to remain and worship together.
- The third will be at St. Luke's UMC [8817 S. Broadway, Littleton] on Saturday, November 23rd from 10am - 12noon
- The fourth will be at Lakewood UMC [1390 Brentwood St, Lakewood] on Tuesday, November 26th from 6-8pm

MINISTRY JOTTINGS BY PASTOR DEB
|
It is through giving of ourselves as God has given to us that we help the body of Christ flourish. Offering our material resources to God is a fundamental activity that is critical to the church's mission. Churches that nurture giving and tithing among their members thrive. They accomplish great things for Christ, offer robust and confident ministry, and they prosper for the purposes of Christ and make a difference in the lives of people.
Every sanctuary and chapel in which we have worshiped, every church organ that has lifted our spirits, every hymnal from which we have sung, every church classroom where we have gathered, every church kitchen that has prepared our meals, every church van that has taken us to camp or a mission trip - are all the fruit of someone's generosity.
We have been the recipients of grace upon grace. We are the heirs, the beneficiaries of those who came before us who were touched by the generosity of Christ enough to give graciously so that we could experience the truth of Christ for ourselves. We owe the same to those to come.
People who practice abundant generosity pray for their congregations to flourish in the ministry of Christ for all ages, and for those near and far. They serve the church, offering their best efforts. They push the church to offer bold and vital ministries that transform the world. And they give - regularly, generously, sacrificially, faithfully and humbly.
Blessings,
Pastor Deb
