AIA Middle East Lecture "Architecture Appropriate To Place"
| Muscat
In collaboration with Innovation Factory, AIA ME Oman begins its brand new AIA ME Talks series featuring Architects and Designers in Oman and the GCC. The goal is to go beyond the limits of the existing design community but also to reach the overall professional realm of Oman to mainly discuss the evolving changes that are happening in architecture influenced by the extravagant advancements in technology.
We begin our series with the founder of 23 Degrees North, Stuart Caunt, who is our speaker of the evening. The Outward Bound Oman Desert Center is l
ocated within the Sharqiyah Sands desert, and is considered the core of the Outward Bound Program. Careful consideration of context encouraged 23 Degrees North to create an authentic sense of place anchored within the vast landscape through a strong visual relationship to its place.
The center is the first self-reliant, self-sustaining building of its kind within the Country and has recently received numerous design awards including the AIA ME Design award for Best Built Project 2017.
