Ruth Lytle-Barnaby shares her COVID-19 survival story
Ruth Lytle-Barnaby is the President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Delaware, she's also a survivor of COVID-19. Ruth was diagnosed with the disease caused by the novel coronavirus in April and recovered in mid-May. Since then she's made a point to raise awareness of the severity of the disease for those who contract it and suffer the worst of its effects. Drive thru service launches across New Castle County libraries
New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer announced a new program across the County's library system to give New Castle County residents a chance to check out library materials while library buildings are physically closed to the public. By downloading the Delaware State Libraries app in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, you can check out up to five items at a time and schedule a pick up at your local library where staff will ensure contactless delivery to your car. Over 7,000 tested at county COVID-19 testing sites in first two weeks
Last week, New Castle County launched expanded from six COVID-19 testing sites across the county to 10 sites in an effort to help meet Governor Carney's goal of testing 80,000 residents per month for COVID-19. That expansion will continue this week and in the future and has resulted in over 7,000 completed tests in the first two weeks. To see what testing events are near you and register,  CLICK HERE . Registration is not required to get tested, but is strongly suggested to ensure traffic flow at testing sites remains fluid. The tests are quick, painless and free.

The County Executive and Owens discussed the County's testing efforts, the Black Lives Matter movement across the country, the future of the New Castle County Airport, the County's wastewater testing program for COVID-19 with BioBot and more.
