Dear Friend of ORBIDA,

The year maybe coming to a close, but the Dyslexia community is ramped up to start the New Year!  Between ORBIDA, Decoding Dyslexia - OR, Portland Public Schools (and their sponsors), West Hills Christian School, and Park Academy, we have A LOT going on.  Some of these registration deadlines are coming up soon, so check out the events below, and don't miss out!

Walk in the Shoes of Dyslexic: A Dyslexia Simulation
Presented by ORBIDA for Decoding Dyslexia Oregon, and featuring our popular Student Panel!

Following the exercises, a feedback session will explain the concepts and provide some recommended solutions.

Wired for Reading - Advanced Course
electrical plugAn incredibly dynamic speaker, Laura Rogan will present the Advanced Course of her "Wired for Reading" program.  This course is designed for teachers and parents working with children reading at a third grade reading level or higher.  The material in the Advanced course stands alone.  You do not need to take the Introductory courses to sign up for the Advanced class.

Tuition: $245 (includes materials if full tuition is paid by registration deadline). Deposit of $150 reserves place.

Dr. Louisa Moats is a nationally recognized expert on how we learn to read, and what happens when children fail to learn to read.

Two workshops presented by Park Academy, in partnership with Landmark College Institute for Research and Training

A resource guide for parents and teachers of Washington state was recently posted on the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction's website.  The Washington Branch of IDA worked in cooperation with OSPI to develop this guide.  Help us get the word out!
