FEDERAL RESERVE
FOMC (Federal Open Market Committee) releases minutes from its July meeting, at which officials left rates unchanged and signalled it was on course for a further increase in short-term interest rates as soon as September. Investors will study the minutes for tweaks to its assessment of the economy and inflation or trade talk.

FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF KANSAS CITY
The Kansas City Fed hosts its annual Economic Policy Symposium -  "Changing Market Structure and Implications for Monetary Policy" - at the  Jackson Lake Lodge in Grand Teton National Park in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  On Friday, Jay Powell will make his first address as Fed chair. The symposium attracts intense attention from activist groups as well as the media and financial markets. The debate this year will center on the increasing market power of massive corporations, as well as the impact of increased online activity.

Storms typically form between the Caribbean and Cape Verde off the northwest coast of Africa.  Last year the U.S. was hit by three Category 4 storms that virtually destroyed Puerto Rico's electric grid, flooded Texas with record rains and ripped through Florida, sending water pouring into Miami streets.
