Rally Day / Parish Picnic
Sunday, August 19 after 10:00 am Worship Service
Please plan to dress in “picnic wear” for church and join us in the Parish Hall immediately following the 10:00 a.m. service for the Parish Picnic. Weather permitting, we’ll open the doors to the lawn on the Main Street side of the Parish Hall and enjoy food, fellowship, and fun together. St. Christopher's will supply the hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, condiments, coffee and drinks. There’s a suggested donation of $5 per person/$10 per family to help defray the cost of the meat. The nursery won’t be staffed, but it will be open so younger children have a place to play.

Members and friends are invited to bring picnic food to share:
A-I – salads (green, potato, fruit, or jello)
J-Q – baked beans, finger foods, sweet corn, vegetarian casseroles
R-Z – desserts!

Please sign up by 12 Noon on Friday! You can use the Signup Genius link below. If you haven't quite got the hang of using Signup Genius, please contact Anita Walker to let her know you will attend, the number in your party, and what you will bring.
awalker@stchriscarmel.org or 317-846-8716.

Weather permitting, we will get a parish picture immediately after church and before the picnic begins.
Ministry Fair, Sunday, August 26
After 10:00 am Service
In the Parish Hall

Parishioners and Friends of St. Christopher’s are invited to take part in the Ministry Fair. The theme for the 2018
Ministry Fair is: “Blessed Be the Tie that Binds: Connecting and Serving at St. Christopher’s." The theme comes from the old hymn, reminding us of the ways we are connected to one another through all the ways we serve in Christ’s name.

Representatives from lots of different parish organizations will be on hand to share information about the feelings of joy, meaning, and satisfaction they receive from doing their ministries in and from the parish. Would you or your child like to know more about singing in the choirs? Who are the Daughters of the King? Or St. Christopher’s 4Cs. How can I be part of a small group like the Tuesday Friendship Bible Study, or the Men’s Prayer Group that meets on Saturday mornings for devotions followed by breakfast together? Can I help with the Altar Guild, or with St. Christopher’s Crops? How do I help extend a warm welcome to visitors and guests on Sunday mornings? There’s something for everyone in this church from counting the
Sunday offering to keeping the grounds beautiful (The Field of Dreams Team!) There are opportunities available for children, youth, adults, and seniors.

With decorations, displays, and props, the 2018 Ministry Fair promises to be a colorful and informative event. You’ll be amazed at all that goes on and even more amazed by how easy it is to participate. Whether you decide to become a part of a parish ministry or not, you’ll learn a tremendous amount about the way the Holy Spirit is moving at St. Christopher’s!

For more information, please contact the Parish Administrator, Anita Walker:
Are you missing Waldo?

Are there parishioners who, like the hard-to-find Waldo, haven’t been seen for awhile? Please let us know who is missing. Look for the white treasure chest and the picture of Waldo in the welcome center area of the narthex. Note paper is provided for you write the names of missing parishioners.
Attention Youth Parents

As we begin the 2018-2019 program year for Youth Formation and Youth Group, it's time to ensure that we have current contact information, permissions, releases, and commitments for all our youth in middle school and high school. Please sit down with your teens and go through the form - including the covenant. You and your youth will need to complete and sign the form online by August 26 using the link below.

For more information, please contact Youth Leader Jenna Parker: jparker@stchriscarmel.org
Realm is up and running. Where are YOU?

St. Christopher's sent a Realm invitation to every parishioner whose email address is on file. Thank you to everyone who logged in, updated your contact information, and established your privacy settings. In the coming week you will find a member log-in link on the website for easy access to your profile and the member directory.

If you haven't logged on and established a password, now's the time! If you didn't receive an invitation or it vanished from your inbox, please contact our Parish Administrator, Anita Walker, who can provide an invitation and instructions.

If you've been away for the summer and don't know about Realm, it is our online administrative system and ministry tool designed specifically for churches. It helps the church connect with you and you connect with us. If you consider yourself part of this parish family, we hope you will explore the opportunities Realm provides for real time connection.
Enjoy taking pictures?

We've grown and so has the need for multiple photographers to capture all we are doing! We are in need of someone to take pictures after the 10:00 am service on August 19, and at the Ministry Fair on Sunday, August 26. You don't need to have a fancy camera. Most current smartphones can do the job! If you would be willing to take pictures on the dates above or occasionally thereafter, please send an email with your contact information to Anita Walker ( awalker@stchriscarmel.org) with a copy to Carolyn Parrott ( carolyncparrott@gmail.com).
Do you receive the Diocesan Newsletter?
