SBC's 2018 Summer Outreach Tour
Springfield Ballet Company kicked off its 2018-2019 season with our annual Summer Outreach Tour, June 5-8 and June 21.

Mrs. Barbara Schwartz (in memory of Barbara C. Rawlings), the Summer Outreach Tour allows the SBC to bring the art of dance to audiences who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend SBC productions. In addition to the entertainment SBC brings to these facilities and their residents, the tour is a valuable civic experience for the young dancers in the SBC.
Dancers performed at facilities all over the Springfield community, including senior centers, long-term care facilities, Project SCOPE, The Hope Institute and many more. Dancers also taught a short workshop to the campers at Ms. Zara's Hope Theater Inclusion camp at SHG!
What a wonderful way to to start our summer!

Why a Pointe Shoe Fund?
Made by hand with materials such as satin, glue, and leather, pointe shoes are constructed with extreme precision. One pair of pointe shoes can cost between $75 and $100. They are designed to break down and mold to the foot of a dancer allowing for those breathtaking moments we see on stage during Springfield Ballet Company performances.
But they don't last long. Some pairs only last a single performance; others at most, just a few weeks of rehearsals. That's why SBC is dedicated to giving our dancers the tools they need to gracefully stay on their toes.
