United States Love Over Hate Ramadan Interfaith Iftar Series:
a Wild Success!

During this past Ramadan, Muslims and other people of faith hosted approximately 120 interfaith iftars in mosques, churches, synagogues, public libraries, and private homes in 33 states throughout the country. ISNA was a proud contributor to this Shoulder to Shoulder Campaign project, and participated in its flagship event at Lutheran Church of the Reformation on Capitol Hill. Gathering over 100 faith leaders, IOICA Director Colin Christopher joined the Muslim panel discussing the inner meanings of Ramadan, with the event also featuring performances from local Muslim artists.

If you have photos from your Love Over Hate interfaith event in your local community, please send them to ioica.fellow@isna.net .
Montana Interfaith Workshop on Countering Anti-Muslim Bigotry

Co-hosted by Shoulder-to-Shoulder, this collaborative workshop is for clergy, faith leaders, and interfaith and faith-rooted organizational leaders interested in countering anti-Muslim bigotry both locally and nationally. It will be held at the Har Shalom Synagogue in Missoula, Montana on July 19, 2018.

Call to Action: House Poised to Act on More Anti-Immigrant Policies

Attorney General Jeff Sessions and President Donald Trump are wreaking havoc at our border and across our nation. Their 'zero-tolerance policy' that has torn 2,000 children from the arms of their parents in the past month is heartbreaking.

Prophet Muhammad (P) is narrated to have said “Who separates a mother from her child will be separated from what he lives in the Hereafter.” (al-Tirmidhi)

Call your Representative now at 1-888-436-6478 to oppose bad, partisan immigration bills coming for a vote this week. Tell your Representative that you want real, bipartisan solutions to family separation and a pathway to citizenship for DACA recipients.

When you call, here’s what you might say:

“Hi, my name is [NAME] and I am a constituent from [CITY/TOWN]. I’m calling today to urge the Representative to vote NO on two immigration bills that are anticipated for a vote this week. Both Representative Goodlatte’s bill (HR 4760) and Speaker Ryan’s bill criminalize our immigrant communities and fail to provide a compassionate and permanent solution for Dreamers. Further, these bills do nothing of substance to end the immoral practice of family separation. Instead, I urge the Representative to support a bipartisan approach to addressing one of the largest humanitarian crises of our time. This is not the time for partisan politics, it is time to pass a compassionate solution for Dreamers and our larger community. Will the Representative oppose the Goodlatte bill and make sure that any so-called compromise legislation is truly done in a bipartisan manner?”
