How to Best Advertise your Open Jobs Online

I bet your company probably is posting job openings on Indeed.  Because Indeed is the world's largest search engine for jobs, it's a safe guess.  They know a ton about how to best advertise your open jobs, and I recommend that you download their e-book called "5 Tips for Attracting Great Candidates to Your Jobs."  Tip 1 - Descriptive job titles get more clicks on both organic and sponsored ads - so avoid generic and get specific.  Keep reading more tips by downloading the e-book.

Protecting your Business from Phishing Emails

Everyday phishing and spear-phishing attacks result in lost company information and costly data breaches.  Spear phishing differs from regular email phishing in its use of extensive research to target a specific audience, which allows the spear phisher to pose as a familiar and trusted entity in its email.  It is easy for employees to fall victim to spear-phishing attacks, so we recommend you have employees read tips from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) on phishing prevention
OSHA Cites Poor Training after Employee Fatality at Florida Paving Company

Orange City, FL - In early August, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) cited Pavemax Corp. for safety violations after an employee suffered fatal injuries at an Orange City worksite. OSHA's investigation determined that a paver operator lacked proper training to use the equipment, and was allowed to stand on the equipment while it was in motion, and subsequently fell and was pulled under the paver. The Holly Hill, FL based paving company faces $16,814 in proposed fines.  To improve worker safety and mitigate risks, conduct (and document) regular employee training, including proper equipment operation.  Click here for Road Construction safety materials.
Should You Manage Your Social Security Info Online?

Did you know that the Social Security Administration offers online accounts that allow the public to view and track all that information that we used to receive once a year via a paper Social Security Statement that was delivered to our mailbox?  The service is called "My Social Security," and it can be a useful resource for retirement planning, income and contribution verification, benefits management, and identity protection.  Read More about My Social Security.
