Take Time To Play!
Most Northbrook Park District outdoor facilities and amenities are now open, following the rules and restrictions required by Phase 3 guidelines. More information can be found at  nbparks.org

Please note, Phase 3 guidelines do not allow for the opening of playgrounds, therefore all playgrounds remain closed at this time

All patrons are encouraged to enjoy the parks safely.

This week's message will be a brief one, and it is our last regular, weekly message. In the coming weeks, as we settle into Phase 3 of Restore Illinois, and continue to look to Phase 4, we will send messages when there are important updates or news items to share. We are committed to keeping you informed!  Please continue to look to our website for resources to help you understand the guidelines in place and find information to help you and your family stay safe and healthy.

Proper PPE Use

Reminders: Distancing, Masks and Group Limits
In various parts of our community, we have seen many instances of people not distancing, not wearing masks, and gathering in groups larger than 10 people. We are in Phase 3 of Restore Illinois , which requires people to keep 6 feet apart and wear masks at work, when shopping and in other public areas. Phase 3 also limits gatherings to no more than 10 people.

Please observe and comply with signage at places of business and in public areas so that you can support efforts to meet community needs while staying within the guidelines.  Follow these guidelines so that we can continue to slow the spread of Coronavirus in our community.

Text-A-Tip: 24/7 Help for Youth and Teens
Summer will bring unique challenges for students who have just finished a very different school year. Students in our community have safe, secure, and anonymous 24/7 access to trained, professional counselors provided by LEAD (Leading Efforts Against Drugs) . Students who have concerns about themselves or a friend can text a code to (844) 823-5323 and receive an immediate text response. The codes are specific to schools; however, any student from any school can use any code:
  • District 27: Wildcat
  • District 28: NBJH
  • District 30: NBHelp
  • District 31: Field
  • District 34: ATHELP or SPHELP
  • District 225: GBN Help and GBS Help (respectively)
Celebrating Schools
This week, our good news stories are all about our schools. As districts end the school year, they are finding ways to celebrate their students through virtual award and graduation ceremonies and safe in-person drive-through events. Please take time to celebrate the youth in our community, who have shown strength, resilience, creativity, and generosity in the face of adversity. Congratulations to their families, too!

Celebrate Glenbrook Graduates
Glenbrook North and Glenbrook South are planning drive-through graduations to honor the class of 2020 and are inviting the entire communities of Northbrook and Glenview to join in the celebration. Neighbors can help give a proper send-off by getting out on their lawns to cheer, ring bells, play music, and applaud as graduates parade past in their cars. Let's take this opportunity to show our seniors how much we love and support them as an entire community!
  • Northbrook: June 13, 5 pm
  • Glenview: June 14, 4 pm
