Instructor/DJ Alyssa Gillespie
CSDS looks forward to seeing everyone at our January dance at the
Municipal Arts Center. We'll celebrate the New Year with instructor/DJ
Alyssa Gillespie, a West Coast Swing and Ballroom dance instructor in Charlottesville and the surrounding areas. As a professional dance instructor, Alyssa's goal is to develop confident, stylish and well rounded dancers. She strives to get beginning students quickly dancing with confidence and to help advanced dancers master their technique, styling and musicality. Alyssa will teach the pre-dance lesson from 7-8 pm, included in admission, and then be our DJ from 8-11 pm.

Dancing @ The Laurels
Thanks to all the CSDS dancers who went to dance and socialize with the residents and staff at The Laurels last month. What a wonderful evening it was sharing our love of music, movement and friendship. The best part was seeing them "dance" whether it was moving their feet in time with the music or standing up out of their wheelchairs to bebop back and forth. Thanks Kristin for the music and to all who brought treats to share with everyone!

HELPERS WANTED!
Would you enjoy free admission to a CSDS dance? CSDS is a non-profit organization and is 100% run by volunteers. It "takes a village" to host a dance. Volunteer Coordinator
Kristin Wenger is collecting names of CSDS members who would be willing to help out from time to time in exchange for free admission. We need helpers to set up, sit at the registration desk, clean up, or help with the snack table.
Let her know if you are interested. NO OBLIGATION REQUIRED. Thank you for helping to support your local dance club!

Adela is often the Table/Group Dinner Organizer for events attended by Charlottesville Westies ~ if you're planning to go to any of these or other events, let her know! And reserve your hotel room ASAP as the event hotels usually sell out well in advance; you can always cancel it later. Don't wait until you decide to go to book your room; it will be too late!
Gaia Read often organizes roadtrips from Charlottesville for the DC/MD/NoVA dances/events; contact her if you're interested in carpooling sometime.
