Preview Day planned for 6th and 9th graders
Events help students learn about new school
Preview Day on Monday, Aug. 13, is for incoming 6th and 9th graders. Buses will provide transportation following the regular  routes, but may be a few minutes late as routes are being learned. Bus routes

Sixth graders are invited to attend Preview Day from 7:35 to 10:10 a.m. at Ray-Pec East and Ray-Pec South middle schools. Students will meet teachers, learn their way around the school, practice opening lockers, and have a snack. 

Freshmen are invited to attend Preview Day from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at Ray-Pec High School. The time is designed for freshmen to familiarize themselves with the high school. Students will have the opportunity to tour the building, visit with advisory groups, meet faculty members, and visit with junior and senior mentors. The event is for students only. 
Middle School fall sports begin next week
Practice/tryouts begin for 7th and 8th graders
For students entering grades 7-8, sports practices and try-outs begin next week at both Ray-Pec East and Ray-Pec South middle schools.
  • Cross Country is open to all 7th and 8th grade students. There are no cuts in cross country.
  • Football is open to 8th graders only. There are no cuts in football. There will be an "A" team and "B" team. All eligible players will receive playing time.
  • Volleyball is open to 8th grade girls. There will be an "A" team and a "B" team, and the number of players is limited. Tryouts begin on Aug. 13.
Practices end at varying times. When school starts, practices will be held after school every day. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing, and bring a water bottle. Volleyball players should bring knee pads.

Athletes must have a current physical (dated after Feb.1, 2018) on file or bring in the completed  physical form to participate.

Meet the Teacher night is Monday, Aug. 13
Elementary and Middle Schools will be open from 4 to 7 p.m.
Students and families are invited to Meet the Teacher Night from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, at each elementary and middle school. 

This is an opportunity for students to visit their school, find their classroom, and meet their teacher.

Freshman Success Night
Information for incoming freshmen and their parents will be shared at Freshman Success Night from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at the high school.

The 2018-2019 bus routes are posted on the District website.

Morning and afternoon routes are posted for each elementary school (grades K-5).  In the East Middle School  attendance boundary , there are separate buses for grades 6-8 and 9-12.  In the South Middle School  attendance boundary, students in grades 6-12  ride the same buses.
Welcome new teachers and administrators
Ray-Pec welcomes more than 50 new teachers this fall
RPEMS welcomes new teachers.
The District welcomed new teachers for training and meetings on Aug. 3, 6, and 7 to kickoff the school year. Put a face with a name!   New teachers

All staff reported back to work on Aug. 8. After a District-wide Convocation, teachers and staff participated in training, meetings, and other preparations for the start of school.

The District is also pleased to announce the addition and/or promotion of Ray-Pec staff members to new administrative roles for the 2018-2019 school year:
First day of school is Aug. 15

The first day of school is Wednesday, Aug. 15, for all Ray-Pec students. It will be a full day of classes.
