AARP Smart Driver Course
July 23, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm in the Parlor
Why take a driver safety course? Because driving has changed since you first got your license and doing so could save you money. Cars have changed and so have traffic rules, driving conditions and the roads you travel every day.

By taking a driver refresher course you'll learn the current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques and how to operate your vehicle more safely in today's increasingly challenging driving environment. You'll learn how you can manage and accommodate common age-related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time. To register please call Susan Davis at 713.354.2264 or email sdavis@sjd.org.
Parlor Program: What's In Your Medical Binder?
September 16, 10:00 am in the Parlor
Sarah McMurray, Care Manager with Artful Aging LLC, will discuss the role of a care manager and the importance of keeping our documents organized and easily accessible. Too often we wait for that “rainy day” to get our affairs in order. What does that really mean and look like? As an elder care advocate and consultant, Sarah will walk us through how to best organize our medical and legal paperwork and give reasons why to do this sooner rather than later. RSVP to Susan Davis at 713.354.2264 or email sdavis@sjd.org.
The Guild Shop
As a ministry of St. John the Divine, the Guild Shop provides a fun and interesting volunteer opportunity for parishioners and the community. Get first dibs on the unique jewelry and upscale items that arrive every day on consignment. Contact Donna at 713.528.5095 or  donna@theguildshop.org for more information.
