State Chamber Update
We have had outstanding events this year and the next several weeks promise more of the same! Tomorrow, we’re hosting a Meet the New Members event at our office, and on Thursday we’re excited about our next Networking Breakfast at the DuPont County Club. Our very popular Principal for a Day program is next week from October 21-25 and we have a dozen schools hoping to have a Delaware State Chamber member visit their schools! If you are interested in this very rewarding experience or have a colleague that would participate, please contact Kelly Basile ASAP! We end October with another Chamber Leadership Breakfast at the University and Whist Club. Our keynote speaker will be Bob Byrd – a fixture in Legislative Hall and participant in the Delaware political scene for decades. And, the fun doesn’t stop there! We start November off with a bang and our 21st Annual Superstars in Business awards luncheon on November 6 at the Hotel DuPont.

I hope to see you at most, if not all, of these really great events!
News You Can Use
This is a short week in economic news with today being a holiday and most markets closed. On Wednesday we’ll learn of September retail sales and retail sales minus autos. On Thursday, September building permit data is released, and we end the week on Friday with Leading Economic Indicators for September. Finally, I attended a Delaware Field Meeting hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia last week.  Here are the slides from this very important presentation.
