MAY 2020 NEWS & UPDATES | STPHILIPS1600.ORG
Gwendolyn Satterfield Barjon (1958 – 2020)
Remembering the life of a woman that we were all so blessed to know, Gwendolyn Barjon. Mrs. Barjon was a part of our St. Philip’s family for 29 years, where she was a master science teacher, former principal, alumni parent, and Director of Innovation. She developed St. Philip’s dynamic curriculum over 20 years ago, helping to shape the 48% of alumni who are now pursing or working in a S.T.E.M. related field. One thing we cannot fail to mention was Mrs. Barjon’s love for gardening. She not only sowed seeds into the ground for a fruitful harvest, but she sowed seeds into St. Philips, allowing all who encounter St. Philip’s to reap the harvest of her blessing forever. Mrs. Barjon will truly be missed, but NEVER forgotten. May God’s grace cover and comfort her husband, Paul, parents, sisters, and children, Gillian, Jean-Paul, Jacques, and all who had the privilege to know and love one of St. Philip’s favorite teachers.

**If you would like to share fond memories, the Satterfield-Barjon family has created a memorial page on Facebook .
Distance Learning
Amidst the pandemic our world is facing, we want to commend our faculty, students, and parents for their adaptability to the quick changes we all made to implement our Distance Learning program. Everyone is showing true strength in this time of adversity. We are in the final stretch! We will continue to gauge our ability and timing to return to normal operations on a weekly basis with the guidance of federal, state, and Dallas County Health and Human Services recommendations.

Stay tuned to our social media to see picture and videos of Distance Learning in action! And, in case you’ve missed a chapel service, they are all available on Livestream .

Aunt Bette's Community Pantry
Recycle Your Paper or Plastic Bags! We are always in need of paper and plastic shopping bags for Aunt Bette’s Community Pantry. Please feel free to drop off your bags at our pantry on Monday 8am-12 pm or Tuesday 1pm-4pm.

Aunt Bette's Community Pantry is one of the few pantries still operating during this coronavirus pandemic. As a reminder, we have modified our operations in accordance with current social distancing guidelines. Our pantry is operating with a "low touch" assembly and distribution model where we are providing pre-packaged boxes of staple foods for curbside distribution to our clients. Thank you to our dedicated volunteers who make it all possible!
