NAEYC Celebrates Educators
TXAEYC is proud to join NAEYC in giving a special “Thank You!” to early childhood educators for the hard work they’ve done during the COVID-19 crisis. Being adaptable, resilient, and welcoming is at the core of who you are as an educator. Over the past year, you’ve gone above and beyond to make sure the young children in your care continue to safely receive the attention and direction they need to excel no matter where they are.

We know how important community is to each of you, so we invite you to share the thanks with a peer or coworker who has made a difference, no matter how big or small, to help in this unprecedented time. From staying late for extra cleaning to sharing virtual meeting tips, mirroring proper mask use for students to making time for professional development, it has all had a positive impact on the young children, families, and the communities they serve.

Introducing Texas Early Childhood English Learner Initiative
TXAEYC is on the Steering Committee of the newly launched Early Childhood English Learner Initiative.
The EL Initiative includes a Policy Roadmap contains recommendations to the Legislature, the Texas Education Agency, the Texas Workforce Commission, schools, child care programs, and others for implementing smart strategies for English Learners in pre-k, other early grades, and child care.
The recommendations will help Texas respond to learning loss during the COVID-19 pandemic and reach the goals state legislators articulated when they supported early education as part of HB 3 during the 2019 legislative session.
