2018 Diabetes WALK Recap
The 2018 Diabetes WALK for Camp Seale Harris wrapped up in Birmingham on Saturday, July 14. This has been an amazing year for all of our WALK events across Alabama & Florida! More than 1000 walkers on 185 different teams across 5 cities joined us from March to July, helping send children with Type 1 Diabetes to Camp Seale Harris this summer!
The Impact Your Donations Made

All donations made to the Diabetes WALK help children attend Camp Seale Harris. The kids of Camp Seale Harris are truly grateful for each and every donor, WALK team leader, camper fundraiser, and walk attendee. Know that no matter how big or small your gift was, YOU made an impact in the life of a child with diabetes!

Camper Awards
All campers are encouraged and recognized for special accomplishments during camp.
Beads strung on nametags are awarded for "firsts" like "first time giving injection," and "first time inserting pump site," and "courage" in diabetes skills and activities. Diabetes Walk fundraisers receive awards for helping kids and families come to Camp Seale Harris.
What some parents missed was seeing top WALK fundraisers have the honor of
Soaking the Counselor! This is one of the things campers look forward to the most each summer - pouring a bucket of freezing cold ice water on their favorite counselor! Across our 3 summer overnight camp programs,
60 camper fundraisers had the chance to Soak a Counselor (Teams raising over $800), and 15 were able to Reserve their Bunk (Teams raising over $2400)!
