June is Great Outdoors Month, starting with National Trails Day on Saturday, June 1. Cornelius is home to over 15 miles of paved and natural-surface trails and greenways, with more under design or construction. Here are just some of the scenic trails in Cornelius - we hope you will find time to get out and explore!

  • Caldwell Station Creek Greenway: 2.6 mi
  • Jetton Park: 1.5 mi
  • McDowell Creek Greenway: 1.5 mi
  • Robbins Park: 4.7 mi
  • Antiquity Greenway: 0.6 mi, connecting to the Rocky River Greenway - opening this summer!

Xtreme Lacrosse
Register now with Xtreme Lacrosse for their summer 7x7 league, running July 13 - August 4, with 2 games per weekend, on Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons at Bailey Road Park. For boys 10U, 12U and 14U.

Symphony in the Park

Bring your picnic baskets, blankets and chairs and join us as we "Celebrate America" with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. Enjoy children's activities from 6:00-8:00 pm, food trucks, concessions and more. Beer and wine proceeds will benefit Lake Norman Wildlife Conservationists. Summer Classes for Adults - Get centered and take an art class this summer! Registration opens June 24 for five-week classes beginning the week of July 22.

Gallery - Don't miss Bright Ideas featuring beautiful works by Sloane Adler, Renee Calder, Justin Christenbery, Rachel Goldstein, Doris Kapner, Michelle Podgorski and Joyce Vukela-Mayer, on display through June 21. 

Public Art - Join us in celebrating the 5th edition of  Beyond Walls at Robbins Park on Saturday, June 1, at 3:30 pm. Cool off with a glass of lemonade and walk through the park with Marisa Pascucci, Curator, as she shares stories about each of the artists and the works they have on view. And be sure to  cast your ballot for The People's Choice Award!  Voting deadline is June 30.

CORNELIUS YOUTH ORCHESTRAS
  Cornelius Youth Orchestras  (CYO) is holding open house sessions on Tuesday evenings in June and August for those interested in joining for the 2019-2020 program year. Open to area youth with at least one year of playing experience. Come check it out!

Registration remains open for Northern Adventures Summer Day Camp! There will be eight weeks of camps for ages 13-21, beginning June 17. Camp will be held at The Dellwood Center in Huntersville. $125 per week.
