Mercy in Our World
Alumnae Living Out Mercy's Mission
|
|
Yvette Borja '10 is an attorney with the ACLU of Arizona and founder of podcast Radio Cachimbona. A graduate of Yale College and Stanford Law, Borja lives Mercy’s mission through her tireless efforts towards social justice.
“Radio Cachimbona follows my journey doing civil rights litigation at the AZ/Mexico border. I storytell the fierce, ongoing migrant/POC resistance occurring in these borderlands by interviewing activists, lawyers, and legal workers working towards justice in Southern AZ. As a first-generation professional whose parents are Salvadoran immigrants, I'm also hoping to prioritize and uplift the voices of Central Americans.”
Borja was recently spotlighted in Mercy's Spring/Summer issue of
Anchor Magazine. To learn more and follow Borja’s journey, click to listen to her podcast,
Radio Cachimbona. (The podcast is also on apple podcasts, stitcher, and google play.)

What values from Mercy are you bringing to your community? How do you address the critical concerns of the Sisters of Mercy—volunteering in your church community, donating time to the homeless, assisting as a mentor, advocating for the marginalized and disenfranchised?
We want to share your “Mercy” to inspire others to do the same!
Please share your story for
