Opportunities Ahead
The calendar is saying it is spring but when I was in Chicago for the National Restaurant Show you could not convince a Florida boy of that with it being cool and rainy my entire time in Chicago! I made the best of it seeing many friends, making a few new ones, and starting on several new assignments.
I always love going to NRA because I use the time to see the new and great applications introduced during the show. I found that most of one day was centered in the Kitchen Innovations Pavilion which showcased 25 products that were truly innovative and not just evolutionary. If you did have time to spend at the Kitchen Innovations Pavilion here is a link of the
winners that were on display.
Congratulations to the FCSI Upper Midwest Chapter on another outstanding Networking Reception! The annual event was held at the Godfrey Hotel in Chicago during the NRA Show. Over 200 foodservice professionals were in attendance and a good time was had by all.
Looking ahead we continue our focus to recruit younger professionals to the supply side of our industry and encourage them to consider Foodservice Design and Management Advisory Consulting as a profession. This July will be the second year we will attend and present a session at the International Council of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education Conference, being held in New Orleans. The Americas Division jointly presents with our Educational Foundation to promote our profession and FCSI to colleges and Universities that have Hospitality programs.
Lastly, I would like to remind all of membership of the great educational opportunities that are promoted on the
FCSI Webpage calendar. Many fill up rather quickly, so it is good to check often. These programs continue to be outstanding. I encourage consultants to send additional members within their firms to these incredible events.
Have a great summer filled with fun with family and some great projects!
Dick Eisenbarth, FCSI

Educational Foundation
The Educational Foundation is asking for our help. they would like to launch new programs and enhance existing programs for the future benefit of all members.
The Upper Midwest Chapter raised $1,200.00 for the Educational Foundation at their annual networking reception earlier this month. Much appreciated and a job well done! Thanks to Jay Bravinder and Tom Gatschet of Champion Industries and Chapter Co-leader, Katharine Mizla, for helping out with the 50/50 raffle. A special thank you to the winner, Travis Walker from Wood Stone, who was kind enough to give back his winnings to the Educational Foundation!
Ed Norman, FFCSI (PP), the FCSI Educational Foundation President, encourages members to consider donating to the Foundation to help them reach their 2019-2020 goal of $200,000. Keep in mind all donations are 100% deductible to business due to our 501 c3 non-profit status.
