Fall Festival: Pumpkins, Penguins, and Wands
Lights on AfterSchool is an annual event that celebrates the benefits and accomplishments of afterschool programs everywhere. Dinner will be provided, and we will have activities, photo-booths, and prizes for the whole family!

Saturday @ the Chinatown Y!
Every Saturday, the Chinatown YMCA provides an awesome middle school program that teaches students leadership and community building skills. Program often includes cooking, field trips, and opportunities to try new things.
Come join us on November 2nd to participate and learn about what they have to offer!

SFUSD Enrollment Fair is TOMORROW
The SFUSD Enrollment Fair is an opportunity for all families and students to meet representatives from each school and find out more about how to apply and what they have to offer. Translators in Spanish and Chinese will be available.

Supply and Clothing Drive
From now through Oct 30th Marina Beacon is collecting clothing and supplies to support families detained at the border, as part of the Y of SF's Latinx Employee Resource Group drive. The attached image shows what items we are collecting. If you have anything to donate, please bring it to room 124 before 10/30. Thanks for your support! 
Summerbridge  is one of San Francisco's premier programs striving to eliminate the opportunity gap that many of our scholars experience. Admission for this program is now open and they are preparing to welcome a new group of sixth grade students.

Family Summits

Over the next month, the San Francisco Department of Children, Youth, and Families is hosting  Family Summits in each district , and the information gathered from families at these summits will help inform their five year planning process. Your voice matters! Don't miss this awesome opportunity.
Be sure to mention that your student attends Marina Middle School. 
Its Digital Citizenship Week!
This week is dedicated to teaching students and families how to use technology in a safe and responsible way. Click HERE to learn how to support you student in this.
