JA Career Bound Grad
Enjoys Summer Opportunity

SoFlo Taste Host Chef Michelle Bernstein welcomed Stephanie Canino, JA Career Bound Program Manager, and summer interns Amari and Thomas on the show in July.

In July, Amari joined the Junior Achievement of South Florida team as an intern. Since then, this JA Career Bound graduate has been a tremendous asset to the Development Team, assisting on numerous projects. Amari has put the skills she learned in the program, such as  collaboration, creativity, and soft skills, like public speaking, communication and goal setting into action.

"Amari has a wonderful spirit and wishes to continue pursuing her passion of making the world a better place for everyone. At JA, she is a bright light and has proven to be one of the leaders of tomorrow. We're glad to have her on board!" - Jennifer Homan, Vice President of Development.

Need an intern next summer? Be on the list of partner companies. Contact Debbie Elliot at (954) 979-7101 or

It's Back to School Time!
Have Junior Achievement
in Your Child's Classrooms!

This past school year, Junior Achievement of South Florida welcomed 21,000 5th graders to JA BizTown and another 20,000 8th graders to JA Finance Park. But did you know an additional 6,000+ students, grades K-12, were taught JA curriculum in the classroom?

Junior Achievement of South Florida's volunteer-led interactive programs introduce students to financial and business concepts as early as preschool. JA provides the materials and training, and parent volunteers provide the time and personal experience to share.

Together, we help students understand the difference between needs and wants, the importance of saving and how their personal interests and values will influence their professional future

To have JA Classroom Programs in your child's school, please contact Katrina Young at (954) 979-7104 or email [email protected].
Thank You Comerica for
Supporting JA BizTown Camp!

Thanks to a $1,000 donation from Comerica, four local students were able to attend JA BizTown Camp this summer. Nearly 300 campers, ages 8-13, participated in this year's three camps from June 25-July 20.  The campers learned how to manage a personal bank account, discover career opportunities by running businesses in JA BizTown, enjoyed fun camp activities and went on a field trip to Broward College North Campus.

Comerica is a financial services company headquartered in  Dallas, Texas , and strategically aligned into three major business segments: the Business Bank, the Retail Bank, and Wealth Management. Comerica focuses on relationships and helping businesses and people be successful.

Junior Achievement of South Florida inspires and prepares young people to succeed in a competitive, global economy by providing real world training in financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness.
