Message from Mayor Cecilia Taylor
"I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart in response to the civil unrest that continues to occur throughout the Bay Area and around our nation. I grieve the killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and many others whose lives were taken wrongfully due to racism and a system that is broken.

I am angry, fearful and burdened by sadness as I pray for peace, comfort and healing for their loved ones. Still, I know these feelings are not enough. We need justice and we need change in our country. Only then, can we heal and move forward.

All protests must be peaceful for real change to happen. Please remember what Martin Luther King Jr. said: “Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”
