Help Families Cope with New COVID-19 Course in Trust Academy *
We know some families that you work with are struggling. Everyone is navigating through things that we have never had to deal with before. In an earlier survey from The Children’s Trust, you indicated needs of families and your desire to assist. But how can you help them to express their concerns and link them to resources that will aid them during this time?
Navigating Uncertainty: Helping Families Cope with COVID-19, a new course in Trust Academy, offers suggestions for looking for less obvious needs, listening to understand the concerns of others, and linking families with ideas for coping and resources to access in the community.
Find Navigating Uncertainty: Helping Families Cope with COVID-19, created by Trust Academy Collective (your program and professional development providers), in Trust Academy by logging into
Trust Central and clicking through.
Other new and timely courses in Trust Academy, include:
- Considering Delivering Services Through Video Conferencing: Where Do I Start?
- Ready, Set, Zoom! Strategies for effectively implementing your program virtually

Synergy Symposium Speaker Series
Equity and resilience mapping with integrated data: Aligning early childhood needs, resources, and policies. This 2-hour event will explore how big-picture data can improve Miami-Dade child outcomes, bringing together early learning practitioners, researchers, and community advocates. Presenters will share new mapping--made possible by integrating data across provider systems--and attendees will have the opportunity to provide feedback on how we can better align research, practice, and policy.
- Equity and integrated data use: A national perspective
- Neighborhood risk and child resilience: Baseline maps for Miami-Dade
- What factors might shape unexpected outcomes? Interdisciplinary perspectives
- Implications for programs, policies, and research
This second-annual gathering is organized by a partnership of agencies, the Miami-Dade IDEAS Consortium for Children, with a shared mission focused on the needs of children from birth through age eight. The Synergy Symposium series was created by Concerned African Women, Inc. We hope to continue this work in person at the fall 2020 Synergy Symposium.
