I'm looking forward to these next 3 weeks where we spend more time considering God's abundance.

I hope you enjoyed hearing from Eric Montoya in church and how he has experienced God's abundance in his life and through VBS here this summer. Thank you for sharing from your heart Eric!

God's abundance is really so much more than we can really comprehend - and that abundant love is for you! The fullness of God is desired and promised for YOU! May God guide us and keep us as we try and live in and out of that abundance.

Adult Sunday morning class

This Sunday, we will continue reading and discussing T he Universal Christ by Richard Rohr . Check that out. The books have been received and handed out. We will be discussing chapters 3 and 4 this Sunday.

Quilting Marathon

Knot Perfect Quilters will be hosting a Quilting Marathon on Friday, October 11 ^th from 6 PM to Midnight in the Fellowship Hall. This is a THRIVENT sponsored event and will include the opportunity to cut fabric, piece, and sew a 9 Block for quilt tops. Anyone who has a desire to learn how to make beautiful quilts for the Lutheran World Relief is WELCOME to join the fun! Refreshments and stretch breaks will be offered throughout the evening. HLC Campout

We will be having a campout behind the 502 on Saturday evening the 12 ^th of October. Starting at 3 PM until Sunday morning. You just have to roll out of the tent and you are almost at church. We will be providing the Saturday evening and Sunday morning meals. Rumor has it that the football game will also be available Saturday. You also have an option to just be there for the evening and spend the night in your own bed. To register for the campout just click here . This will help us to get a head count for the meal and to know whom to expect.

Cooking With Sovanny

Please join us for a cooking class with our sister, Sovanny Emm on October 26. Sovanny is a native of Cambodia and is a wonderful cook. She is offering to help us learn to make spring rolls and egg rolls! Cooking with Sovanny will begin at 11:30, following the Feeding Five Thousand community breakfast. We will meet from 11:30 to approximately 1:30. A $5 donation would be appreciated to help pay for the groceries. We will meet in the fellowship hall. Look forward to seeing you all there! Adult Midweek Bible Study

We will be studying the Sunday Lessons and Gospel. The Lessons and Gospel are listed below. This will continue on the first and third Wednesdays. Our next meeting will be October 16 ^th  beginning at 6:30 for 1 hour in the fellowship hall.

Call Committee

A call committee has been formed to pursue the process of calling an ordained pastor after our internship term ended on August 12. The members are Jane Bolgen, Lloyd Mattingly, Claudia Cook, Jane Sweeney, Bruce Duewer and Bobby Stern. Please remember these people and the process in your prayers .

OWL's Luncheon

October 15 ^th the OWL's will have lunch at church at 11:30. We will be having a pot luck followed by games.

Theology on Tap

Our next meeting will be Wednesday  October 23 ^rd  at the Downtown Hall of Fame. Time 7 PM.

Our next meeting will be October 9 ^th . Meet at 7 PM.

Women's Bible Study

Ladies, our next Bible study will take place Wednesday  October 16 ^th  at 9:30 AM in Classroom #1 of the Fellowship Hall. All ladies and friends are encouraged to attend this study and fellowship opportunity.

Online giving to HLC

We have enabled contributions to Hutto Lutheran via a Mobile Phone app. We have selected Vanco, who is currently providing our Simply Giving service. A document here shows how to use the app. We are currently able to contribute to the General and the Building funds. If you have any questions, please contact Rodney Westphal.

Campus Beautification

The property committee is looking for help with mowing and trimming the grass on the church campus. If you are interested in helping with this work, please contact the chairman of the Property Committee, David Dahl . Your help would be greatly appreciated.

We have sign-ups available in the Narthex for all positions on one sheet. The electronic method is also available. You may also email the office if you wish to put your name on the sign-up. The sign-up book is for acolyte, cantor, greeter, lector, communion assistant, altar guild, head usher, flowers, sound booth and munch 'n mingle.
