Autumn comes with a quiet breeze, a tinge of deep earth in it's odor. A change of light scarcely perceived. But when it awakens to it's full beauty, landscapes open up their colors to us. We see the beauty of decay, part of the cycle of rebirth. As our mother breathes out we find ourselves in the last of her harvest. Grateful for this bounty we dig our roots in preparing for the darkening season.

29th Annual Long Dance in Review
Due to a small campground and limited space we kept this years Long Dance light. One tipi, the mother drum, and minimal fire. Only 32 Long Dancers this year attended, but it was concise, and very powerful. 
In this year we danced the north and birthed the buffalo. Our stay at the campsite was covered in dragonflies and expansive views of the Carrizo Plains. Some of us visited the painted rock, a sacred site.
We hold hope that next year we will be settled on a new property and that Long Dance will be back in full swing, decorated in all her beauty and grace.
