VT Approved CLE - New Closing Instructions

In 2016, a group of ALTA and MBA volunteers convened to discuss the fact that a major component of the residential mortgage loan "Closing Package" had been resistant to standardization: the Closing Instructions. For the past four years these volunteers have worked in a MISMO framework to create a different type of document that will work for all lenders and all settlement agents. The new uniform Closing Instructions templates are now complete and being implemented across the mortgage lending industry.

This webinar will introduce these new documents and discuss how lenders and closing agents will benefit from the use of a common communication form.

VATC's Annual "Last Call for CLE"- Mark Your Webinar Calendar!

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Capitol Plaza is NOT able to host our popular Last Call for CLE this year.  Accordingly, we will be conducting the program via WEBINAR on June 16, 2020.

NOTE:  Because nobody would possibly sit through an all day webinar, the program will be TWO hours this year. Yes - one hour will be an Ethics credit. The other hour will be Current Developments and other exciting things.  We apologize for the abbreviated program. If you need additional CLE before 6/30/20, please plan accordingly.

Webinar Announcement - Using Video to Build Relationships

Are you looking for a better way to communicate with your customers and business partners? With so many people working from home, and face-to-face interaction at an all-time low, personal connections are hard to come by. CATIC has found a solution. CATIC recently partnered with BombBomb (www.bombbomb.com), a video marketing platform, which makes it easy to build relationships through email, text, and social media. CATIC agents get special pricing.

CATIC is hosting a webinar on June 4 at 1:00 p.m. about BombBomb and the ability to add video to your communications. Following the webinar, you will be able to sign up for the special CATIC Connections pricing. All registrants will receive a recording of the webinar after it is produced, so please register even if you know you can't attend the live event.

Register here for the June 4 webinar. Please note - the time on the registration link is listed in Mountain Time. The webinar will be held at 1:00 p.m. Eastern.

Already using BombBomb?  You can still take advantage of this special CATIC pricing offer. You'll be able to opt-in at the link that will be provided at the webinar (and with the recording) and receive a prorated refund for the remainder of the subscription you've already purchased, so please register for the webinar in order to get your refund.

If you're already using BombBomb, or sign up for it following the webinar, you are also invited to join a training session that will give you more tips and tricks on how to use BombBomb most effectively. There are two training date options available:

Friday, June 5 at 1:00 p.m. register here
Tuesday, June 9 at 4:00 p.m. register here

Please note - the time on the registration link is listed in Mountain Time. The training sessions will be held at 1:00 p.m. (June 5) and 4:00 p.m. (June 9) Eastern Time.

CLE Reporting

As you know, VATC requires all agents and approved attorneys to complete a minimum of 6 hours of Real Estate Specific CLE during their two year VT Supreme Court reporting cycle. These credits may be obtained through VATC-sponsored seminars, the VBA, other underwriters, or any other accredited continuing legal education provider.

If you are an attorney who is reporting this year, please click here to complete the CLE reporting form or email a copy of your Supreme Court reporting form to Jayne by July 12th.

A Night of Fun at the Ball Park

Champ has his fingers crossed that COVID-19 will not cancel VATC's Annual Night with the Lake Monsters. Join fellow VATC agents, their staff members, and family for a BBQ and an evening under the lights as the Lake Monsters take on the Brooklyn Cyclones (NY Mets affiliate).

We'll provide tickets to the game, BBQ dinner and $10 in ballpark spending money!

Date:
Friday, July 17, 2020
Who: This event is free and is open to the real estate departments of all active VATC members and their families
Time: Gates/BBQ open at 6:00pm; first pitch at 7:05pm
Where: Centennial Field (98 University Road, Burlington)

Very Important:

1.   We ask that you reserve spaces ONLY if you plan to attend the game. In the past we have experienced numbers of "no-shows" on game night. We realize that sometimes family plans change but since this event sells out every year (and we have to buy all of the tickets), we ask that you call us - with lead time, if possible - to let us know if you cannot get to the game.

2.  This event is targeted at the real estate personnel (attorneys, staff, paralegals) in the firm as well as their respective families. We ask that responses be limited accordingly.

3.  There is a limit of 10 people per firm or prior VATC approval.

Thank you for your courtesies.
