BIBLE STUDY WITH THE WORD
Tuesdays, from
7:00 pm
to 8:30 pm
We will be reading
The End of the World or Heaven on Earth: An In-Depth Look at the Book of Revelation
How can we see the Book of Revelation, not as a road map to the end of time, but as a way of finding God in apocalyptic times? This six week journey will focus on how we should understand this vivid account of Christ's second coming as a book of hope. Sessions will include a survey of works of visual art, music and film making that draw from this, the last book in our biblical canon. Each session will be followed by a simple compline service. All are welcome to join us!

Please Participate in
the 2020 Census
You should have received information on the 2020 Census in the mail. It is even more critical this year that you mail this information in promptly. With COVID-19, collection of census information will be difficult. But it is important for accurate numbers to be determined for the Berkshires. Census numbers impact education, infrastructure, health care, employment training, and housing decisions at the federal level. These results will affect our community every
day for the next ten years.
Please do not be absent from this census.

What are you grateful for?
In this time of fear and anxiety, it can be easy to miss the daily blessings that are right in front of us. Being grateful is not just for good times. Being grateful is even more important when fear sets a place at your table and heartbreak seems to be in your every breath. Because by being grateful we become aware of all the ways God is working in us. Being grateful is a part of our healing and our deliverance. Being grateful is where our best selves reside.
I invite you to take time each day to breathe and be aware of all the ways God is present with us. Write them down or simply include them in your daily prayers. A heart that turns toward being grateful comes to see the goodness and grace of God everywhere, even in a time of hardship.

First Sunday after Pentecost
Trinity Sunday
Matthew 28:16-20
The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good ol' way
And who shall wear the starry crown
Good Lord, show me the way
O sisters, let's go down
Let's go down, come on down
O sisters, let's go down
Down in the river to pray
As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good ol' way
And who shall wear the robe and crown
Good Lord, show me the way
O brothers, let's go down
Let's go down, come on down
Come on, brothers, let's go down
Down in the river to pray
As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good ol' way
And who shall wear the starry crown
Good Lord, show me the way
O fathers, let's go down
Let's go down, come on down
O fathers, let's go down
Down in the river to pray
As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good ol' way
And who shall wear the robe and crown
Good Lord, show me the way
O mothers, let's go down
Come on down, don't you wanna go down?
Come on, mothers, let's go down
Down in the river to pray
As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good ol' way
And who shall wear the starry crown
Good Lord, show me the way
O sinners, let's go down
Let's go down, come on down
O sinners, let's go down
Down in the river to pray
As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good ol' way
And who shall wear the robe and crown
Good Lord, show me the way

GIDEON'S GARDEN PLANTING DAY
Planting Day is Saturday June 6th!
Planting Day will look a little different
than in previous years, but the
Garden still needs the church for this special day!
Due to the coronavirus, we will be maintaining safe practices this year. We are inviting people to come in small groups. Bring a mask, your own gloves, and a trowel, and come help plant our garden!
Sign ups are limited to eight people per time slot. Sign up
HERE. On the doodle poll, please list each member of your family individually so we can ensure that our groups remain small.
A Blessing of the Garden will be shared via Zoom at 6:00pm on Friday, June 5th. Please watch for an email with the link.

There have been some big changes around
the Garden in the past week!
For one, we raised the
butterfly net and planted flowers inside.
But even bigger?
Danny came to the Garde
n to lay our rows of plastic.
We planned for 14 rows.
We got 23.
It appears that in this season of hunger, we will be able to offer just that much more food to the community!
(In the picture to the left is Fisher and our new intern Timmy. We are grateful for Timmy's help in this busy time! Hopefully you will all be able to meet him soon!)
And meanwhile, things are looking beautiful around the farm.
That table bed is filled this year with Harley's plants to make her tasty dried teas!

HIO Sponsorship Transforms Lives
|
|
The HIO family is a tightly knit group and totally committed to caring for one another. Loyal sponsors are our backbone. Your yearly support covers school tuition, books, uniforms, healthcare and emergency family relief for our girls.
The new school year in Nepal would normally have begun the third week of April. Our partner schools' openings will be delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, but we'll begin paying 2020 tuition bills for sponsored girls soon. Such a blessing to have received so many of your sponsorship donations and contributions to HIO's family relief efforts during these unsettling times. Your kind generosity is truly appreciated.
