Detox services in Stark County
13th Street transitioned to ReCOR; Alliance remains unchanged
This update is being provided by StarkMHAR to give you the latest information regarding service transitions in our care network.

As previously announced, detox services and 23 hour observation beds - services previously provided by Crisis Intervention and Recovery Center's 13th Street location - have been transitioned to CommQuest’s Regional Center for Detox & Recovery (ReCOR) located in Massillon.

(Detox related services are still available in Alliance, too - those are unchanged.)

As part of supporting a smooth transition, here is information that may be useful about the ReCOR facility and its services:

ReCOR offers 14 detox beds and two observation beds serving adults who struggle with substance use. While at ReCOR, clients receive 24-hour medical care with medication management to help alleviate their withdrawal symptoms. Additionally, clients receive counseling and case management services designed to help prepare them for treatment after detox ends. The length of stay varies depending on the severity of withdrawal symptoms and availability of on-going care.

The intake process is designed to ensure quick access to care. Clients receiving services will go through the following process on the first day:

  1. Client may either call (330) 837-9411 to schedule an appointment or may walk in 24/7.
  2. A formal intake is completed to gather background information on the client.
  3. Client will receive a comprehensive assessment with a member of ReCOR's counseling staff. The assessment is designed to determine client substance usage and begin treatment planning.
  4. Client will be drug tested to see which substances are currently in their system.
  5. Client will receive nursing evaluation to go over client's health.
  6. Client meets with medical doctor to determine best treatment option.
