Dear Campus Community,

We all want the pandemic to end. What we know at this point is after hitting record numbers in December, community spread in Arkansas is starting to slow. However, that does not mean that we are out of the woods – we have to remain vigilant to build that momentum moving forward.

UAM students have all been doing their part this past year to help slow and stop the spread of COVID-19 on our campus. After evaluating the options, it is clear that there is yet another thing we can all do to stop the virus in its tracks – here in our own community.

Therefore, we are instituting a February Freeze on all in-person student programs and activities. For the next four weeks, student organizations will continue to hold meetings and offer events and activities in online formats. Meetings of less than 10 people following strict COVID-19 guidelines may be approved by the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Engagement. Student Activities will also be hosting multiple online events each week – so watch for that schedule to come out!
