Deceivers in Our Day!
By Jan Markell
August 6, 2018
|
What has happened to the church in the last 30-50 years? Why are so many of them giving heed to unsound doctrine -- in fact, the doctrine of demons? (I Timothy 4:1) Sure, Jesus warned this would happen in the last days, but have the deceivers literally taken over parts of the church? Apparently so.
As Terry James writes in the Introduction of his book Deceivers: Exposing Evil Seducers and Their Last Days Deception, "The deceivers walk among us. They, in fact, rule this fallen planet while the wind-up of human history runs its inevitable course."
Jesus says in Matthew 24 that the deceivers will fool legions of people in the last days.

Jan Markell and Gary Stearman discuss the decline of the modern church. This is a 28-minute conversation. |
In this book and in a shortened discussion on air in this 28-minute TV presentation with host Gary Stearman, I talk about:
- The Mainline Protestant mistake
- Evangelicals Wobbling
- Gospel Lite: Purpose-Driven, Seeker-Sensitive
- The Not-So-Funny Laughing Revival
- Prophets All About Profit
- The New Idol: Social Justice
- Protestants Flirting with Catholicism
- When the Religious Left Isn't Right
- The New Apostolic Reformation
- Experience Over the Bible
- Hipster Church: Postmodern and Emergent
- The Decline of Bible Prophecy and Israel Support in the Modern Church
Why is all of this happening? Because we're in the last hour, not the last days. The enemy wants us to take our eyes off of the Bible and focus on the experiential.
Why are many flying across the country and from other continents to attend a Bible prophecy conference? Because as Jan and Gary Stearman discuss, this gloriously hopeful message has been dropped from their church's agenda. This is the greatest change in the church in the ministry of both Jan and Stearman.
The enthusiasm that was generated by Hal Lindsey's "Late-Great Planet Earth" in the 1970s and 1980s has given way to the new mood, "Come, Lord Jesus, but not too soon!" Even worse than that is the Rapture scorning and mocking -- also predicted.

Hear our two-part radio series on the dangerous practices at Bethel Church, Redding, CA. Jan interviews parents who lost a daughter to Bethel. She was programmed with false memories via Sozo counseling. Part one is here and part two is here. Why should people be cautious of the New Apostolic Reformation?
FINAL THOUGHT: Plan on gathering a group together on Saturday, September 29, to view "Understanding the Times 2018". We will livestream it at no cost to you.
