Champagne Named NECU Branch Manager
Northeast Credit Union has promoted Jessica Champagne to branch manager of its Dover location. Previously the assistant branch manager of Dover, Champagne remains a staple within her branch and in the greater Dover community, according Kelly Sica, assistant vice president of retail management. Champagne's responsibilities include overseeing the everyday operations of the branch, promoting community involvement and to ensure that the financial well-being of their members is met with the highest level of member service.
Champagne began her career with NECU in 1997 at the Portsmouth branch as a teller and worked her way into the lending department first as a loan processor, then loan sales support coordinator. From there she moved to the Dover Branch in 2006 to be lead teller/member service representative further advancing to assistant branch manager and now to branch manager.

Dr. Davis Carries on the Cat Doctor Tradition
Veterinarian Sharon Davis has recently become the new owner of
The Cat Doctor of Dover, following in the footsteps and example of the practice founder and longtime colleague Dr. Joann Young, who retired earlier this year.
Dr. Davis joined the busy practice in 2009. Working alongside Dr. Young for a decade, Dr. Davis says her philosophies of medicine and business very similar to her predecessor. Embracing this continuity, in late 2018 Dr. Davis took over the hospital for Dr. Young, who retired in early 2019.
Dr. Davis says she honed her craft as an associate and relief vet over 16 years at several distinguished New Hampshire practices, focusing on general medicine, wellness, surgery, and emergency care. She has special interest in internal medicine, dentistry, and behavioral medicine. A transplant from Lynn, Massachusetts, Dr. Davis received her bachelor of science degree from the University of New Hampshire.

10 to Watch Winners Lead the Way
Winners of the sixth annual 10 to Watch awards included a clean energy leader, legal counsel to New Hampshire's governor, an affordable housing advocate, and pet store owner turned life coach.
The contest, presented by the Catapult Seacoast young professionals network and Seacoast Media Group with lead sponsors Bank of America and Eversource, showcases the driving forces behind today's new economy, innovation and community organizing, by spotlighting young people tangibly impacting the Seacoast region.

SOS RCO Initiates Recovery Friendly Workplace Program
SOS Recovery Community Organization has received $285,000 from the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority (NH CDFA) to initiate a Recovery Friendly Workplace (RFQ) programming across Strafford County and the Seacoast. The NH CDFA awarded five nonprofits nearby $1 million in grant funds to support RFW initiatives.
John Burns, director of SOS said as part of its RFW program, SOS would like to develop and/or identify various curriculum to introduce individuals to careers in various trades, construction and medical services for people in recovery. In addition, he said that SOS has identified that employers could also benefit from stigma trainings and educational modules as to how to become a recovery friendly workplace. Burns said upon completion of developing employer trading and education, the next step would be to provide professional assistance and development in collaboration with employers to build recovery support services into the workplace.

33rd Annual Cochecho Arts Festival Kicks Off July 12th!
Festival staples like the
Liberty Mutual Headliner Series,
Federal Savings Bank Opener Series, Children's Series and Farmers Market Stage will be entertaining Dover once again this summer. Also returning is the popular Dinner and a Movie Series. The 2019 Festival will also include an expanded
Optima Bank Art Rocks program and on Wednesday nights The Shark in the Park Classic Rock Series. The 2019 Cochecho Arts Festival will run from July 12th through August 27th. All events (except Dinner and a Movie) are open to the public and free of charge. All performances (except the Farmers' Market Stage and Dinner & a Movie) will take place on the
Burns, Bryant, Cox, Rockefeller & Durkin stage.

Spring Village Completes Director Team
Spring Village at Dover, a new 56-bed assisted living community specializing in memory care located at Pointe Place in Dover, has the hiring of its director team with the addition of a director of nursing, maintenance director, and dining services director.
Allison Sullivan-Smith will join Spring Village at Dover as the director of nursing. A graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing, she has been a practicing nurse for over 25 years.
Nicholas Griffin joins Spring Village at Dover as maintenance director. He says he is pleased to be back with parent company Woodbine Senior Living, LLC, having worked with its staff in the past as the maintenance director for their community in Rye.
Rob Caron joins Spring Village at Dover as the dining services director. His gift is feeding people.
Caron says he is, eager to make our residents happy through special treats and meals that will provide them with the comforts of home.

Bowl-A-Thon Raises $4K for Junior Achievement
More than 50 employees from
Holy Rosary Credit Union and
Bernier Insurance, along with family and friends, participated in a recent bowl-a-thon at Dover Bowl to raise money for Junior Achievement of Northern New England - a tally that reached $4,000.
For the 2018-2019 school year, HRCU has provided volunteers to teach over 32 JA classes, reaching over 600 students in Kindergarten through 8th grade in Rochester, Dover, Farmington and Strafford. Participants came up with team names that reflected financial education terms, such as the "Tellers on Strike" and "Loan Rangers," as April was Financial Literacy Month.

Business in the Arts Awards Recognizes The Art Center
The Duprey Companies, The Keene Sentinel, Fiduciary Trust of New England and The Art Center were named the winners of the Business in the Arts Awards, and Elizabeth Hitchcock was named as the Leadership Award recipient, by the New Hampshire Business Committee for the Arts.
The Art Center was recognized for being a champion for working artists with its more than 3,000 square feet of studio, gallery and performing arts space.
Winners were awarded a framed abstract painting on Yupo paper by New Hampshire artist Ann Saunderson. Each award was inscribed with the recipient's name by calligraphy artist Adele Sanborn. Event décor and table centerpieces were designed by lifestyle production artist Matthew Mead.

GDCC City Lights Committee Readies Downtown Dover for Summer
The Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce City Lights Committee and the Dover Elks Lodge decorated downtown Dover with American Flags.
The hanging of the flags was made possible through the City Lights Committee and the Dover Elks Lodge #184. Cleary Cleaners of Dover donated their cleaning services to bring the flags back to life before they were hung up.
The Dover City Lights Committee is a volunteer group of Dover Chamber of Commerce members and residents dedicated to hanging American flags on Central Avenue during the summer months, as well as illuminating downtown Dover during the holiday season.
