Belin Chancel Choir to Perform at Carnegie Hall

Distinguished Concerts International New York City (DCINY) has announced that Belin Chancel Choir has been invited to participate in a performance of The Music of Mary McDonald in New York City. This performance is planned for Sunday, May 26, 2019 - Memorial Day Weekend - in Isaac Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall under the baton of DCINY Artistic Director, Jonathan Griffith. These outstanding musicians will join with other choristers to form the Distinguished Concerts Singers International, a choir of distinction. Composer Mary McDonald, who was in concert at Belin Memorial in November 2017, will be present as composer-in-residence as well as accompanist and piano soloist for the performance. Dr. Jonathan Griffith will serve as conductor of the performance and clinician for the residency.

45 Belin Chancel Choir members will spend 5 days and 4 nights in New York City in preparation for their concert. "The singers will spend approximately 9-10 hours in rehearsals over the 5 day residency," says Griffith.

Locally, the choir will present two upcoming concerts in support of this New York City trip. On Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 6 PM in The Sanctuary, the choir will join guest organist Evan Wesley Currie for a very special evening of classical and sacred music. Also, at 6 PM on Sunday, September 30, 2018, the choir invites everyone to "Come On, Get Happy!" This concert features upbeat, uplifting sacred music certain to put a smile on your face. Both concerts are open to the community at large at no admission charge, but love offerings will help defray Carnegie Hall trip expenses. Tell your friends and mark your calendars for these two don't-miss concerts.

Letter of Appreciation

Dear Sponsors,

My name is PIERRETTE KIBANZA. I am in my final year in the College of Business, Peace, Leadership and Governance. I am majoring in economics.

I am writing this letter of appreciation in recognition of everything you have done in my life by contributing to my education through the scholarship. I am grateful for the sacrifice you have made for me to become who I am today and to allow me to complete my degree in economics. I am graduating on June 9th.

I do not have the words to express my profound gratitude for what you have done for me. So, please accept this sincere thank you. May our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, continue to bless you abundantly.

Sincerely,
PIERRETTE KIBANZA

Prayer Shawl Ministry
Thank you to all who have helped make the Prayer Shawl Ministry a blessing! Those who receive the shawls are so appreciative. They truly feel the love and prayers from all who have made the shawls. It's a great comfort to them.

Thank you to the circles for your monetary contributions used for the purchase of yarn. You make it possible for all of us to knit or crochet.

I would like to ask all of you who are making shawls to let me know who you are so that I can communicate with you more effectively. Please contact me with your name, email address, and phone number. If you need yarn, please let me know as I keep a supply in stock.

Thank you for making this ministry possible. You are making a difference in people's lives. They feel touched by God through you.

Contact Carolyn Jackson if you are participating or would like to participate in this vital ministry ( [email protected], 843.215.6760).
