PARALLEL NAMED TO SECURITY BUSINESS' FAST 50

At ISC West in April, Security Business magazine unveiled it annual ranking of the top 50 fastest-growing security integrators. In its first year on the list, Parallel was ranked 15th.

According to CEO and President Dale Klein, inclusion on the list is "a reflection of the company's commitment to creating a team that not only understands the global security  landscape and how technology can be used to reduce risk and safeguard organizations but also how to bring more value to each customer engagement."

ESSENTIAL DATA CENTER OPERATION KNOWLEDGE CAPTURE AND TRANSFER

At AFCOM 2019 in Phoenix, Parallel's Chris Pinc spoke on the topic of state of "Knowledge Transfer" within Data Center Operations.

According to Pinc, "It is rare that you find a data center operator who has been with an organization more than 10 years and plans on staying for another five. These individuals are repositories of institutional knowledge and indispensable. However, in today's dynamic workforce people are coming and going - and so is the knowledge they possess.  Which makes it essential that we examine the state of our knowledge: who has it, how it is captured and what is its accessibility."

Pinc outlines the main points from his presentation in this blog post and expands on the topic in greater detail in the April issue of AFCOM Journal.

SIX CONSIDERATIONS FOR DETERMINING FACILITY'S DAS NEEDS

Whether it's our mobile devices or the IoT devices that gather data and operate the machines that surround us, we are dependent on connectivity. And we expect to be able to connect at full strength no matter where we are. Enter Distributed Antenna Systems (or DAS).

Any organization in the market for a DAS should purchase the system needed to fulfill the requirements of the business's objectives.  A DAS can be designed to support differing carriers, varying occupancy loads, any size of building, and different bandwidth requirements.

So how to determine what you need? Parallel's DAS expert Matt Schwartz outlines the six area to consider when determining your facilities' needs in a recent blog post
