USCCB AND JFI URGE SUPPORT FOR IMMIGRATION BILL
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) and their Justice for Immigrants Campaign (JFI) are urging individuals to contact their U.S. Representatives in support of
H.R. 6
, the American Dream and Promise Act of 2019.
The House is expected to vote on the bill tomorrow.
H.R. 6 would provide a pathway to citizenship for qualifying Dreamers, Temporary Protected Status (TPS), and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) holders living in the United States.
The USCCB's Committee on Migration Chairman, Bishop Joe S. Vásquez of Austin, Texas, sent a March 15, 2019
letter
to each Member of the U.S. House of Representatives in support of the bill.
