New Safety Award Schedule: Make Safety a Priority and Apply by August 31
NIA's Theodore H. Brodie Distinguished Safety Award™ is the only national award for outstanding safety performance in the mechanical insulation industry. To streamline the Safety Award judging process and to make the customized Safety Training Analysis Results (STAR) Reports available to winners during the award presentation, applications for the 2018 Safety Award are due on August 31, 2018.

OSHA Electronic Record Keeping Update from NIA Legal Counsel
An Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) update from NIA legal counsel:
OSHA filed a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) to eliminate the requirement for businesses with 250 or more employees to electronically file their OSHA 300 and 301 form annually. The proposed rule would eliminate this requirement. The rule for all employers with 20 or more employees to electronically file their OSHA 300A forms each year will remain in place.

Bahamas Bound in 2019
NIA's 64
th Annual Convention is taking place at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in Nassau, Bahamas, April 3-5, 2019. Located on Cable Beach, the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar is a brand-new resort that is located 15 minutes from Lynden Pindling Nassau International Airport (NAS) and close to the city of Nassau.
The Convention Planning Committee met in July to finalize plans, and the registration link and more details will be available soon.
